Next to the Convent of Christ and the town of Tomar, just perfect to rest, relax or explore the history of the Knight's Templars and take part in the Festa dos Tabuleiros and Festival dos Bons Sons. Within a beautiful private estate, this house is a stone's throw to Batalha, Alcobaça, Nazaré, Leiria, Ourém, Óbidos, Santarém and Lisboa The space Our house is located within a country estate whose history dates back to Roman times. Today it is the ideal place for those looking to be surrounded by nature in search of inspiration or those who enjoy a charming country home. It's our weekend home--where we spend most weekends away from our busy lives in Lisbon. The property is located just outside of Tomar, close to the Convent of Christ. In Tomar and around the city you can taste terrific food, find great people and beautiful landscapes. The house is located in lands which belonged to the family of Marquis de Tomar and the rooms are charming and comfortable. The living room with fireplace overlooks the green landscape and there is a terrace where you can enjoy the birds singing and the fresh air of the countryside. If it's too hot, you can enjoy the (private) pool overlooking the bucolic scenery. You are also welcome to venture out with the frogs in the waters of the old tank. We invite you to stroll in the company of swallows (and an occasional falcon) and breathe in the fresh air around the estate. There are great trails just outside the house which will take you just as far as you'd like. Some say the estate is a place of enlightenment where relaxation suddenly happens. Other things to note We hope you enjoy our house and think of it as your own—and take good care of it—for the duration of your stay. The house was built using local workmen and local materials, nothing fancy or expensive, just solid and functional. Rustic flowers and weeds that grow about, free of pesticides. There are great sunsets and chirping birds, wild rabbits and birds. Around the house there is jasmine and lavender, rosemary, ancient olive trees, beautiful oak and cypress trees.
