Description

Studio Rosa is a small, comfy studio for Two. It's situated in an old Italian villa build in 1892 in a peaceful area of Isola. Studio has it own entrance, King size bed for two, walk in shower, toilet, simple cooking equipment (small stove, water heater, fridge, few dishes). Air Conditioning. Guests can use beautiful garden with sitting area. There is storage space for bicycles. Studio is 3-5 minutes walk away from the closest beach and shops, market town is 3 min walking distance. The space While we were renovating the Studio Rosa, we were thinking more about the restoration, so we kept the beems open, also 3.20 m high ceiling, lime paint on the walls, exposing the building material - stones (walls are half a meter thick). Although, we included some modern features like walk-in shower, new electricity and plumbing, etc. Studio Rosa is looking to the street, which is quiet and mainly used by local folks. Since the whole building is protected as a historical and cultural heritage. The whole building where Studio Rosa is, was a first private hospital in Izola in 1892. Some of the Italian design charms are still here: original tiles in the main corridor, apartments doors, glass window, beams, parquet. I believe to stay in such a room, where nothing fits the modern standards, where no wall is in straight line, gives our soul and body an opportunity to 'rest' from narrowness and straitens (lines) of our modern life. And that's exactly what holidays are for. Guest access Isola is a beautiful, open and vibrant city. It was a fisherman's village, and you can still buy a fresh fish early in the morning when few fisherman are coming back with their night catch. All restaurants (most) serve local fish and vegetable greenery. Food is good. Isola is positioned between Koper/Capodistria, main port of Slovenian coast, and Strunjan where is a a very good Salt spa. And astonishing panorama with old sea salt harvesting fields is.., what can I say, beautiful. Between Koper and Isola is a 7 km long foot trail for joggers, bicyclers (but you can rent bicycles very near - like 200 m away). Most destination Piran, Portorose that are beautiful towns by the see can be richer with bycks of on foot, trail mostly goes by the see. So, when it's too hot to go on, you can have a cooling swim in the sea. Next to Strunjan is a Piran, small city which was one under the influence of Venice, and so was Koper. From Trieste to Koper, via Izola, Strunjan all the way to Piran, and further on to Portorose (summer holiday resort, with hotels, playa, tourists) there is a Paranzana, old Italian road changed to the bicyclist heaven :). Before the Second World war Paranzana was used by local farmers and fisherman to commute to Trieste where they would sell fresh fish, eggs, meat, fruits and veggies. A lots of women worked in Trieste as nannies or hand washing ladies or servants. Beaches in Isola are mostly stone and stone. At Svetilnik beach - in the centre of the town you have a lots of wood decking for sunbathing, small pears to jump into the water, kids playground. There are also restaurants and small coffieshops, with fresh drinks and snacks. And of course ice creams - heavily influenced by Italy - Trieste is 30 min drive away. Beach at Svetilnik is equipped with showers which you have to pay - but I guess that's fair, otherwise the local community would be paying water for tourists (but that's debatable). :) Night life is good. Local pubs have some good live music. Hangar next to the Marina is playing blues, rock and modern (mostly not pop) music. Belveder terrace next to the Moonbay, the natural resort park is focused on live jazz, techno funk, etc. Moonbay is accessible by foot, you have to jump from stone to stone, sometimes walk in the sea - knee high or less - depend of tide. Natural stone cliff is gorgeous, and during the weekend all yahts are parked in the bay for the water is very cool. There's only public beach for skinny dipping. Hotel in San Simon have at nights a one man band :). Restaurants are not open till very late (23-24 pm). But folks like to stay on the beaches, at Svetilnik playa, till the morning. You can travel between the coastal cities by boat, or local bus. There are plenty fast food varieties, eating in restaurants is not too costly (of course some places are fantastically good and likewise expensive). The music, concerts are mostly for free, and so are the events on the main square which are happening, let's say every 2-3 nights. We have a Summer cinema movie program - to watch something good and/or popular under the clear straightened sky. Other things to note Our business of renting the apartments is legalized. So we report our guest arrival to the local tourist office and we pay a tax for you stay. When you arrive we must take info from your ID or a passport. To quicken the process we take a photograph of your document, send the data and delete the photo. If you are not happy with photographing your document we will rather write dawn all the required information. So when you arrive let's as know what do you prefer.
