Bay Cottage

A character, Grade II listed, cosy, thatched cottage situated in the picturesque, rural village of Stoke Abbott. 12 miles from the Jurassic Coast. The area provides an endless choice of scenic walks. The property has its own private drive (off road parking) and a mature garden with an enclosed paddock descending to a stream. The space Accommodation includes a ground floor en-suite queen double bedroom. Upstairs there is a master bedroom en-suite, a queen double bedroom, a twin beds room, a bunk bedroom and a family bathroom. Please note the bunk beds are small singles so ideal for children and small adults. Large inglenook open fire. Just a warning, in keeping with the originality of the fireplace, there may be a risk of the fire smoking during use which depends on weather and temperature. A complimentary basket of firewood is provided between September and end of April. Additional firewood upon request will be charged £10/basket. Outdoor patio area. Outdoor dining set with parasol. Gas BBQ. Please note that the cleaning service has no time to clean it, so we really appreciate that the guests clean it up after use. Off road parking for up to 4 cars. A travel cot is available upon request. Cot bedding may be provided for a fee. Land line for local calls only. Very limited mobile signal in the village and no mobile signal at the property. Unfortunately no access to internet fibre optic resulting in poor internet service. This cottage has been a family home for 40 years. We have left the decor in keeping with our mixed family culture, meaning British with a Malaysian twist. Please don't expect a holiday let deco with light greys and white IKEA croquery etc as our family use the cottage too, so it's our home. Please treat our home and our personal belongings with respect. We hope you love our home as much as we do. Sorry, NO PETS and NO STAG or HEN PARTIES. Guest access The surrounding countryside has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Ideal location for scenic walks including the Coastal path. Other things to note Please note that due to the extremely high cost of energy/heating oil, the Aga in the kitchen is not on for the moment. Thank you for your understanding.
