Sweet country home in Normandy

Sweet and typically-French country home 100 km from Paris (direct train from Montparnasse) in "petite ville de caractère" town of Verneuil-sur-Avre, in the Eure region of Upper Normandy. Three upstairs bedrooms, sleeps six. Private garden and terrace for outdoor dining. We call our home "La Maison du Bonheur", which means the house of happiness, because whether you are inside the home or outside in its lavender and honeysuckle-filled garden, this is a happy place. The space Explore the bucolic French countryside with a stay in historic Verneuil sur Avre, a town that has been voted one of the most beautiful villages in France by the Michelin Guide. ("100 Plus Beaux Detours de France"). The home is situated in the "centre ville," or the center of Verneuil sur Avre, so you don't need a car! And while you are close to bakeries, restaurants and cafes, the home is completely quiet and calm. Want to swim but don't want to drive up to the beaches? Verneuil has a lovely pool which is open July through mid-September. Swimming classes and aquagym everyday except Thursday when the pool is closed. There are also public pools open year-round in nearby towns, easily accessible by car. NOTE: The hedge that lines the terrace area is being replaced with new vegetation. There is currently a privacy fence while this replacement is taking place. The terrace remains completely private, however. Home improvement: September 2024 the entire electrical system from fuse boxes to wiring has been updated to not only meet but exceed France's standards. Certificate can be viewed in the home. Additionally, the shower has been redone, new silicone mouldings installed. WiFi upgraded to fiber October 2024. Guest access This is our weekend country home. We use this home ourselves on certain weekends/holidays when it is not rented out. The furnishings are tasteful and not "rental home furnishings." Our guests access all the home with the exception of one closet and some kitchen cupboards where we store our items that are not for guest use. This rental is self-catering. We do not supply breakfast but can show you our favorite bakeries for your fresh, flaky morning croissants, delectable pastries and delicious breads. The home has everything you need to prepare meals (we love to cook!) --from a raclette service to a slow cooker-- for the meals that you'd like to prepare yourself when you aren't taking advantage of the area's wonderful restaurants. Other things to note We require a minimum stay of three nights. We do not rent this home out longterm but are open to discussing short-term rentals. There is a small water feature, a fish pond, on the property. Small children must be under their parents' watch at all times. Owner declines any responsibility for any damage, injury or death resulting concerning the water feature (fish pond.) This is a non-smoking home.
