Description

Welcome to our cosy bolthole near the south coast in Hove. Over the years we fell in love with Hove as there is always much to see and do from vintage shops/arts/food festivals, flea markets and plenty of coastal walks. All rooms have been recently redecorated to our warm, artistic and vintage taste to make it feel like home from home... The space The ground floor garden apartment is in a Victorian house that is on a leafy residential road which leads up to Hove station. The flat is right next to Hove Recreational and Hove parks (off Old Shoreham Road), it is a family favourite. It has a wonderful open play-park, tennis courts, bikes to rent, miniature railway, football and rugby pitches and a lovely laid back cafe. On Saturday mornings the park hosts Park Run events. At weekends, we often spot fathers running with buggies/prams in the park which makes us smile! You will never be short of choices when it comes to cafes, tearooms, restaurants, bakeries and bars - all are walking distance from the flat. There is a trendy parade of little shops outside Hove station (towards the seafront) with useful amenities including two independent pubs: The Watchmakers Arms and the Station pub (great for sports and open fired homemade pizzas). The Small Batch coffee house is great for freshly brewed coffee, chai latte and the likes. Our favourite is the Wolfies' Kitchen which does fabulous brunches, lunches, freshly made bagels and homemade hash breakfasts - out of this world - and a few doors away its fish and chips which is exceptionally good. The wine shop is perfect. There is a bus stop just outside Hove station that has frequent buses (no 7 and 21) to nearby Brighton and other spots along the south coast including the South Downs. A short walking distance further down and towards the seafront you will see plenty of independent boutique shops and trendy cafes and bakeries like GAIL's on Georges Street and along Church Street which has plenty of international restaurants, bars and a fabulous butcher (delicious homemade meat pies and the likes) and cheese shop. There are plenty of mini-markets including Co-op and Tescos and the larger supermarkets are nearby as well. We have been in Hove for over a year and fell in love with the area for its quirkiness, creativity and being so close to the sea, the station, the buses, and Brighton.
