Hushstay x Sukoon in the Himalayas

Located in a small village called Jalna (Almora) away from the hustle-bustle of the city, Sukoon Homestay, a One bedroom Kumaoni cottage is all that you need to let yourself go. At Sukoon Homestay, your day starts with the melodious chirping of birds while the the first rays of the sun fall onto the stone walls and slate roofs of your private cottage. Your breakfast consists of local Kumaoni Cuisine made up of fresh vegetables and fruits grown organically on the extensive organic farms. The space The entire place will be given exclusively to you and there will be no-one sharing the space with you. Spread out in 3 acres of land in the Himalayas and surrounded by virgin pine, oak and rhododendron trees with seasonal fruits and vegetables, Sukoon celebrates Kumaon in its truest sense – the spirit, the architecture and the revelry. The inn breathes tranquillity and offers you the essence of authentic India: her friendliness, hospitality & serenely balanced lifestyle. Guest access The cottage has a patio, a small garden and a dining area which is common for everyone. We also have a small organic kitchen garden. You may also take a walk around and enjoy the amazing scenery. Other things to note Before you book, please note: • This booking will include Breakfast only. Apart from the meals included in your meal plan you can also order from the Menu available at the home stay and pay accordingly. •  Getting to Paradise: This hushstay is located about 30 kms from Almora Town within the premises of Hushstay x Sukoon. The nearest Railway Station – Kathgodam is at a distance of 85 Km. We can organize a cab for a pick-up and drop from Kathgodam railway station or Pantnagar airport at an additional cost. If you are driving – it is important that you have experience in hill driving as the last 01 Km to the house is a drivable dirt road which might get muddy during rains. Parking is available at the premises and from the parking to the main house, it’s a downhill slope of about 50 m. - Accommodation: This place is offered exclusively to only one group at a time, the price varies depending on the number of guests so please select the exact number of guests while booking. Rooms are offered on double occupancy up until 04 guests and other rooms are locked.  We will offer extra beds in the bigger Suite Room if you are a group of more than 04 guests. The smaller mud room on the lower level has a low ceiling height of about 7 ft. The suite room has an ensuite washroom while the mudroom does not have an attached washroom. Please note: If you have booked Sukoon, we might host other guests in our other Unit called Hushstay x Raahat and both share a common kitchen and staff. This is a homestay and not a hotel. The place has been entirely built to provide a close to nature experience. We don’t have TVs in the rooms! - The Weather: The temperature is similar to that of Almora, only a little lower since we are surrounded by lush greenery. Like any other home in the mountains, we do not have an air conditioner and there are no ceiling fans in the rooms. The thick stone walls keep the place warm in winters and cool in summers.​  - Timings: Check-in time: 01:00 PM | Check-out time: 10:00 AM Services of the staff are available until 10:00 PM. Dinner will be served before 10:00 PM. S ince the staff has to wake up early to prepare ahead for the day, we request you to kindly adhere to meal timings. - Additional Charges: We try not to harm the environment as much as we can and hence the wood for the bonfire has to be purchased before-hand. There is an additional cost of INR 700 per bonfire session (01 hour). Please note that if it has rained the previous day, sourced wood might be wet and bonfire might not be arrangeable. We provide refillable water bottles in each room, bottled water can be sourced on prior request at an additional cost. -  Food and Staff : Apart from the meals included in your meal plan you can also order from the Menu available at the home stay and pay accordingly.  The meals offered depend on the raw materials available locally. If you have any special requests, please make sure you inform the staff 24-48 hrs in advance so that it can be sourced in time. We have a caretaker and an in-house cook and the kitchen is made for their use only. We do not allow guests. - Pets:  We are pet-friendly. If you are coming with your pet, make sure they are well-mannered and that nothing is damaged.​ In case, there is damage, the same will have to be paid for at the time of checkout as per actual costs. - Wifi and Connectivity: Being at an offbeat location, we do not have a Wifi in place however, there is a good 4G connectivity for Airtel and Jio users, unless the weather is bad. A JioFi dongle can also be arranged on request.
