It is located in Avon Plains in Victoria's Wimmera region, near the famed Grampians National Park. 'Little Argyle' is a beautifully restored one-bedroom farm cottage with historic charm. It has a wood fire and big windows looking out to the gum trees, paddocks, grazing sheep, birds and kangaroos passing-by. It is set out in a studio apartment style with one queen bed, armchairs, couch and television in one area which opens to the kitchen, pantry and dining table. The kitchen has a modern oven, stove and microwave for those wanting to cook-up a hearty country meal. But it's the luxurious bath that steals the show - open the outside door so you can take in the bush setting, or the night sky, while you soak. Also in the bathroom is a shower, hairdryer and toilet. Outside on a small lawn area is a fire pit - perfect for toasting marshmallows and staying warm while stargazing. For adults and children, Argyle Farm is a haven with so many things to do: feed the chooks, collect eggs, wander the bushland, lie in the hammocks, play in the tree house or ride a bike. Alternatively, this is the ideal place to be still... board games, reading, sleeping, yoga, meditation. There is wifi. The farm has been owned by the same family for five generations and antique paintings and ornaments artfully tell its history. The two closest towns are Donald (20 minutes) and St Arnaud (30 minutes) where you'll find supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries, cafes and petrol stations. The property is situated alongside a dry lake reserve. Five minutes to a recreational lake used for boating and fishing. There are also olive groves and award-winning wineries nearby. Whether you want to do everything or nothing at all; whether you're escaping the city or wanting a change of scene from the suburbs or coast, Argyle Farm will charm and restore you.
