Description

Rustic outside but 5 star simple luxury inside. Fully-self contained and comfy. Solar hot water & power for the perfect eco-friendly holiday. Situated between two National Parks. The Tin Chalet is in the middle of the 'farmyard' of an organic property, next to the garden and orchard, with goats, chooks and Clydesdales across the fence and the beautiful Brodribb River a hop and a skip away. Organic produce, milk and eggs in season (guests can provide own linen - for a small discount). The space Recently built (still finishing small details like trim but is fully functional). In winter this is warm, having double glazed windows and being well insulated all round. The wood stove cooks meals and keeps the place cosy. The upstairs bedroom has a double bed. Bathroom and laundry are off the verandah, with an inside/outside pan toilet at the end (certain considerations are needed). The kitchen has a wood stove plus a double burner gas stove for cooking, a small 40 litre fridge and a cool room. There is a small study nook as well as a 2 seater lounge to flop on. Guest access Come through 2 farm gates to find the hidden Chalet. Other things to note **** With Covid becoming increasingly virulent, i am only accepting guests who have been double vaxed and preferably with booster. There is no mobile phone reception here, and no TV. Goongerah is in a black spot, being deep in the hills. The host's landline can be used if necessary though for taking messages or making calls. A phone box is also 1km up the road at the hall. There is wifi at the local community hall which can be used (1 km away), or when convenient, you can hook into the host's satellite wifi which has only a short range of 30m or so (doesn't reach the Chalet) Goongerah is nestled between two national parks - the Errinudra to the east and the Snowy to the west. The tree-lined Brodribb River runs along the edge of the property and is fed from the forests and Wildreness area upstream. Visit the rainforests and 600 yo giant trees of the Errinundra. There are several short walks and one or two drive yourself tours. The Snowy River is about 1 hour's drive and the Marlo coast is about 1 1/2 hours drive.
