Laurobel Cottage offers you a cosy home away from home with a fully equipped kitchen for all your cooking needs. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids). We are situated halfway between Canberra and Cooma, which is perfect for those travelling to/from Mt. Kosciusko, Melbourne, Sydney or for those wanting to do day trips to the snow or to Canberra. The space Set on 100 acres of beautiful countryside, Laurobel Cottage offers sweeping views of the mountains and surrounding bushland. At the time of writing, our paddocks are home to Alpacas, Anglo-Nubian Goats, and Suffolk Sheep — a charming addition to your rural escape. Please note: Animal types and numbers may change over time. If your booking is specifically to see certain animals, please confirm their presence with us in advance. Farm Activities: Guests are welcome to explore the property via mowed walking tracks, perfect for a peaceful stroll through nature. For those interested in a more hands-on experience, animal feeding can be arranged by prior request only. If you’d like to participate, please mention this when making your booking request to avoid disappointment. Laurobel Cottage is a fully self-contained rural retreat, offering privacy, comfort, and the feeling of home. It accommodates up to 10 guests, with quality linen, tea towels, and bath towels provided. The cottage includes: • A fully equipped kitchen for all your cooking needs • TV, stereo, CD & DVD player • A wood-burning fireplace (available during cooler months) Guest access Important Access Information: The laneway leading to our property is private and is to be used by vehicle only for the sole purpose of accessing Laurobel Cottage. Walking along or exploring this laneway or its surroundings is strictly prohibited. Guests are not permitted to leave our property on foot via this route. As the primary guest, it is your responsibility to ensure that all members of your group are made aware of this rule. We ask for your cooperation in respecting the privacy of our neighbours and surrounding landowners. Check-In: Upon arrival, please ring the bell at the House Paddock gate to check in. Other things to note Shopping: Convenient shopping options are available in Canberra and Cooma, with the Michelago General Store just a 10-minute drive north. Dining: For dining, the hotel in Bredbo and a boutique cafe are located 10 minutes south, both offering a welcoming dine-in experience. Cottage: Complimentary tea, instant coffee, and milk are provided in-house for your convenience. Farm activities: For your safety and comfort, we kindly request that guests wear appropriate footwear on our walking tracks and remain mindful of uneven terrain. * A secondary portable toilet is available in an outhouse near the cottage; please note it does not include a wash basin. Guest Acceptance: Our maximum capacity of 10 guests is reserved exclusively for family groups.
