Misty Mountain Cabin

My place is close to great views and plenty of wildlife. It is great for romantic getaways or exploring the rainforest to see birds, platypus in the creek at Broken River or just to hang out. The name "Eungella" means "land of cloud" so when you wake up in the morning you will likely be surrounded by thick cooling cloud which clears by about 9am to a beautiful sunny day with the wildlife just waiting to be discovered! Eungella is over an hour from Mackay. The space Misty Mountain Cabin is small and rustic but comfortable accommodation for couples but I can accommodate a third person upon occasion. Guests need to be aware that there are steps up to the bedroom and then steps down to the shower and toilet area at the end of the veranda.The shower and toilet is outside the main building and the steps will get wet during rainy periods. As this is a rainforest area you will find micro bats flying around the veranda at night when you use the bathroom space. They are delightful little creatures and are completely harmless! The space is private and has plenty of amenities to create a pleasant stay, including stove, fridge, washing machine and dryer. There is an air conditioner for the occasional hot times. My cabin is neither modern or fancy, but it is clean, comfortable and has ready access to the attractions in Eungella. Be aware that this listing may not be suitable for people with mobility or health issues. Guest access You will have access to all parts of our property while you are with us. We live with a variety of birdlife including peacocks and guinea fowl which are very quiet and will eat from your hand. The peacocks can be quite vocal during breeding season from September to January. I also have a maremma sheepdog who is in training to caretake my poultry. Snowball may bark upon your entry but once she knows you she is friendly. Other things to note Eungella is often shrouded in cloud especially in the mornings but the climate is mostly cool and delightful. I do have air conditioning and there are fans available if the weather is hot. Also there are steps up to the bedroom and down to the bathroom and toilet. Guests need to be aware of the multiple steps for those who may have mobility problems.
