In the kitchen you will have the use of an electric 4-burner cooktop, a microwave, small fridge and all equipment. Heating and cooling is provided by a reverse-cycle a/c as well as good insulation and double glazing on the north facing entry to the flat. Please note the second bed space is a futon that converts to a three-quarter sized bed. Your airbnb is located at the end of our garage area and on the same driveway as our home, but you have complete privacy as our home looks to the east and we advise you to park near your entrance so you feel more private. Being set high and only 3km inland from the picturesque township of Penguin, our property has expansive views through the trees that are on or border the property and home to many birds (39 species have been recorded). The property also offers protection to Pademelons and Echidnas. Many guests like to wander around our property to see Bass Strait to the north and perhaps the daily sailing of the Spirit of Tasmania. While in the east we see farmland, forests and lights at night as far as Low Head at the Head of the Tamar river. In the south, we see rolling hills and, our favourite, Mt Roland, with its enticing mood changes according to the weather. We often see a family of Wedge-Tailed Eagles soaring nearby. Penguin is only a two-minute drive away for walks, swims, cafes and restaurants. As part of our seven-day makeover 3 years ago, we helped paint the Penguin bins! The Bass highway is down the road and round the corner for ease of access to other areas of the north-west. Alternatively why not explore the back roads which will show you both the variety of crops grown in the area and give you stunning views. The first Coles store is a half hour rural drive in the picturesque township of Wilmot. You will have ease of access to explore the coast line of the north-west, and other little towns, or go further afield to some of our favourite areas at Cradle Mountain or the Tarkine. We love and are committed to protecting this unique area so our property is on tank water, has a bacterial sewerage system, double glazed windows and solar power to help sustain our stunning environment. Guest access On arriving at the address, please proceed up the driveway. Your accommodation is to the right of the garage. At night you may encounter Pademelons and Wallabies and the occasional Echidna, so please drive slowly. If arriving in the day you will see many birds on the property or perhaps see a family of Wedge-tailed Eagles soaring above. Other things to note We regret that at this time wifi is not available but you will get good "hotspot" reception. We commit to providing a clean and sanitised space and providing cleaning and sanitising products for you to use during your stay.
