- Spacious, light second floor 2-king bedroom apartment in Grade 2 listed Georgian town house - 2 large bathrooms, baths & showers - 4 adults - Well-equipped kitchenette - Danish/Norwegian mid-cent modern furniture - For younger guests, dino-themed furn, books/games - Courtyard seating, fire pit - Secure cycle/motorbike - Heart of Bridport, near rests/shops/street markets - West Bay beaches 1.2 miles, via off-road paths; 1 mile SW Coast Path - No cleaning fee - Discounts 3+ nights The space Lime House Bridport is a two-bedroom suite in a three-storey Grade II listed Georgian town house, with two big bathrooms and a small but well-equipped kitchenette, plus an outdoors rope walk courtyard seating area, with table, chairs, plants, and a firepit. Your front door leads to an inner hall, with a large bedroom, kitchenette and one bathroom to the south side, and a second bedroom with an en suite bathroom to the north side. All very light and airy. Total floor area approx 71 M2/761 sq.ft. Both beds are king-size, with firm John Lewis ortho mattresses, and have no footboards, so ideal for taller people. All bed and bath linen is provided, including bath sheets. All duvets, pillows and cushions are man-made fibre (no feathers in the apartment). The apartment is pet and animal-free. As well as mid-century modern furniture from Norway, Denmark, UK (Ercol), we have a range of original art work and photos from artists such as Stanley Donwood, Chelo Lluva, Neil Barnes, Marzia Colonna, Amanda Sciberras, Guy Beggs, plus several period American big bird prints by Gould in the hall. Bedroom 1 - Spacious room (17' x 14') with king-size 150cm bed, no footboard, with a deep firm John Lewis ortho mattress, chest of drawers, desk/dressing table with Norwegian coffee table, classic Ercol easy chair with footstool, and another Danish easy chair. There is also a drop-leaf table and four chairs, a games and puzzles chest, a desk fan (in summer) and a floor-standing fan, a wall mirror, as well as a smart TV and a Roberts iStream radio which you can plug your phone into. Hairdryer, hanging space, and 2-3 pin adapter. Bedroom 2 - Large room (15' x 13') with king-size 150cm bed with deep firm John Lewis ortho mattress with no footboard, chest of Danish drawers, dressing table, period mirror and period chair, Scandinavian rocking chair, a Danish coffee table, a wall mirror, and a desk fan. There's a smart TV, and also a bookcase with many fiction and non-fiction books (adults and children) and games. Blackout blind, hanging space, 2-3 pin adapter and hairdryer. Bathroom 1 - South facing, spacious (10' x 9') and newly renovated, with good hot water pressure in the shower - shower over full-length bath arrangement. Two vertical radiators, cane chair and and a step stool. There is a full-length mirror in this bathroom, and the ironing board is in a cupboard at the rear. Bathroom 2 - This bathroom is en suite, north facing, spacious (13' x 11') and newly renovated, with good hot water pressure in the shower - shower over full-length bath arrangement. There's a blackout blind, a stool, a chair, and two vertical radiators. Kitchenette - a compact space with a Dualit toaster, kettle, Panasonic combination microwave oven (can do pizza and baking), two cafetieres, fridge-freezer, sink, and counter-top single induction hob. There are a couple of saucepans (different sizes) and a frying pan for breakfast eggs, or one-pot cooking, for use on the single induction hob. We can supply a slow cooker on request. In the cupboards and on shelves you'll find a full complement of crockery, cutlery, glasses - including wine and champagne glasses - kitchen knives, teapot, coffee pots, chopping boards, a salad spinner, vases for flowers, an iron (ironing board in bathroom cupboard), and a first-aid kit and first-aid manual. Tea towels, ground coffee, drinking chocolate, and eight varieties of tea are also provided. We also normally provide semi-skimmed milk in the fridge, plus quality crisps and local Moores biscuits. We can supply a large steamer for the induction hob, and a slow cooker for casseroles, on request. Children - There is an IKEA high chair available for very young guests, on request. There is a Hauck travel cot (120x60cm) together with 7.5cm mattress and bedding, available on request. We can provide animal towels for you ger guests. Prehistoric corner - For out smaller guests, we have a dinosaur and fossil area, with books, models, model kits, and knitted dinos, together with drawing equipment, which can all be enjoyed from our new child-size dinosaur easy chair and club chair. There's also a big dino rug for setting up dino games and scenarios. Feel free to move our dino and fossil resources around the apartment! Games - The games chest and bookcase areas contain traditional board games (chess, cribbage, dominoes, backgammon, Scrabble, Monopoly...), many jigsaws, Bananagrams, Uno, Dino Top Trumps, Exploding Kittens, Ocean Bingo, Dinosaur Bingo etc. And puzzles such as 299 Dogs. Bookcases - We provide some local interest books, novels for adults, non-fiction, and many books for children of different ages... especially books about dinos and fossils, but also storybooks for different ages, including my favourite children's book, Not Now Bernard. Wi-fi and tech - Lime House has fast wifi (fibre wired Ubiquiti Unifi system with wifi access points on each floor) and smart Freeview 32" TVs in both rooms - you'll need your own logins for access to subscription channels such as Netflix etc. There's a Roberts iStream radio providing Internet radio, Bluetooth, DAB+, FM, headphone socket, phone input socket, and USB input. Outdoors - there is a garden courtyard seating area, with table and chairs and a firepit. You'll be surrounded by Portland limestone garden walls, and many plants in summer. Guest access You have access to the entire guest suite. This is a second floor apartment, and you need to climb stairs. We always offer assistance with taking your luggage upstairs. There is a fire door as the entrance to the apartment, which is heavily sprung - good for keeping small people from wandering off. There is a host private room at the rear, for storage. We will not need access to this during your stay. You're on one of Bridport's central shopping streets, just beyond the shops, so everything is just a couple of minutes' walk away, on the flat. We are just a mile away from the South West Coast Path, which can be reach via public footpaths from the house. X51, X52, X53 bus routes bus stops just a few yards away, to get you along the coast. You can stop briefly outside for unloading or loading. Just park across our dropped kerb, outside the horse coach entrance. You can park across the road from the apartment for up to 1 hour. There's an outdoors rope walk courtyard area for your use (separate from our garden), with table and chairs and fire pit. You are also free to visit our town garden, which is a work in progress, just let us know. We have free and secure onsite storage for bicycles and parking for motorcycles. There is long-stay car parking in East Street car park, 100m away (free between 8pm and 8am and on Bank Holidays, otherwise pay per 24 hours), as well as free roadside parking around 5 minutes' walk away. Install the JustPark app on your phone, for convenience, if you intend to use the East Street car park(s). Other things to note We have secure storage for bicycles, on the ground floor. We have secure onsite parking for motorcycles. You can store a pushchair in the ground floor inner hall area. The suite doesn't have clothes washing facilities, but if you need a small amount of washing/drying done during your stay, we can do this for you, at no cost. There is a small locked storage room on this floor, at the very back. We will not need access to it during your stay. We do not charge a cleaning fee. All items that are 'on request' are free of charge e.g. high chair, travel cot. Just let us know what you need.
