Stay: 450yr Fuji Oshi Pilgrimage Inn｜hitsuki

Welcome to "Mt. Fuji Pilgrimage Inn - Hitsuki"! We opened our inn in 2016 to preserve the 450-year-old Fuji Oshi house. Renovated by the 18th-generation woodworker owner, it became a registered cultural property in 2024. Enjoy a space where tradition and modernity blend, with astrology and aroma experiences to relax your body and mind. Our family-run inn offers a warm, lively atmosphere, welcoming all guests. Experience a special time where history and craftsmanship come together. The space Oshi is a prayer master who offers his home to “Fuji-ko”; pilgrims to Mt. Fuji, as a place to stay as they prepare for their spiritual journey to the summit of Mt. Fuji. An Oshi does not only give the pilgrims room and board but also offers prayers for the body and soul of the pilgrims and teaches them about the rituals of the sacred pilgrimage to the summit of Mt. Fuji, while they stay at an Oshi house. There are lot of interesting facts about a guesthouse like ours and the Oshi, which we would love to share with our guests! Guest access This is a historic building that has been protected for generations, and is where the 18th generation head of the family lives. Please refrain from entering areas marked "private" or "staff only." During your stay Our guesthouse also has a cafe, a woodworking showroom, and an onshi gallery. We aim to create a space that is relaxing and welcoming for both tourists and locals. Also, since we are a family-run guesthouse, we hope you will feel at home and relax with us. Other things to note ーWe live with cat.Our cat dosen't go guest room but if you have cat allergies,it may not good. ーOur guest house is 440years old Japanese house so winter time (December-March)will be cold. We set up heating equipment at guest room and cafe space but not in toilet or corridor. Even our water supply freezes when its get really cold.　At that time, we may close guesthouse.
