Hidden away on the edge of the ancient Forest of Dean, in the beautiful Wye Valley, with a large secluded garden, accessed by a mile long, narrow, single track lane, hanging with ferns in summer. It's is a fabulous place for walkers and town escapees. Once a woodman’s cottage, with a cosy, spacious interior, fully equipped kitchen, log burner, very comfortable beds, all you need for a relaxing break. Not suitable for young children 1-12, the large garden has a pond and steep terracing. There is table tennis in the garage, carefully open door, make sure locks pointing up (6 o’clock) it’s stiff just pull carefully DO NOT Relock thank you Do help yourselves to herbs from the garden, only Bay, Thyme and Sage in the winter Other things to note The lane to the cottage is one mile long, tarmac, although very narrow (with passing places), Standard family sized cars will be fine, Anything wider than a transit van will not get through, so no camper vans . the lane can be overgrown with ferns in summer. It is also a no-through road. The cottage has a large turning area for guests. There is room for 3 cars. There are 3 bedrooms, and 3 beds, 2 x king sized and a smaller queen bed. The main bedroom with en suite is accessed through the Queen bedded room. We do allow dogs, up to 2, please not upstairs, there is a small charge which covers the extra cleaning, always necessary and we supply laundered sofa covers for 4 legged friends who prefer to lounge.
