In The Heart of Ohakune

Virtually at your doorstep is our town’s best cafes, restaurants and shops, as well as supermarket, pharmacy, bike rental shops, the Carrot Park, i-SITE and Intercity bus stop. Yet our house is still private with a homely feel and its own garden. Perfect jump off point to explore both Tongariro National Park and Wanganui National Park, or just winding down after skiing/snowboarding at Turoa, doing the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, or any of the short walks nearby, or biking the Old Coach Road. The space You have the entire house to yourselves – 4 bedrooms, 2 lounge, dining area, fully equipped kitchen and 2 ½ bathrooms. Plenty of parking within the premises with a covered carport at the back of the house. There is WIFI, aircon and heating, and the option to use wood burner in winter for that added ambiance. The lounge and dining area has flat screen TV, and the full kitchen has stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, big fridge, kettle and toaster. There is coffee, sugar, tea, salt and pepper for your convenience. We only ask that you don’t cook food, which will leave strong odours. The dining table can sit up to 8 people and the kitchen nook has 2 bar stools. A baby high chair is available if requested. There are 3 bedrooms on the ground floor. The front bedroom has a queen size bed with wardrobe and opens to the front deck and gardens - perfect spot for coffee or afternoon tea. The 2nd bedroom is also spacious with wardrobe and a double bed while the 3rd bedroom has a bunk bed, both close to the powder room and a roomy bathroom with washing machine. The 4th bedroom located upstairs has a king bed and an ensuite. Fresh linen and towels are provided. The lounge upstairs is spacious with generous all day sun flowing in and a picture window offering fabulous view of Mt Ruapehu on a fine, clear day. This lounge has a sofa bed that can fit 2 people. There are also plenty of books and board games here to pass the time. Stroll to town and avail of our complimentary coffee voucher at Utopia Café. On your way back, marvel at the mountain from the road at front of the property, if you look up just before dusk you'll be dazzled when the mountain turns pink. Guest access Guests are free to roam around the property. The entire holiday house is yours during your stay. Other things to note If you want to use the wood burner, it's BBYOF (bring or buy your own firewood). Firewood is available at New World or at Johnny Nations Chocolate Enclair Shop. Ohakune’s ‘call-to-action’ siren is tested every midday at 12pm.
