The space Perched on a hillside overlooking the beautiful twin beaches of Tong Nai Pan on Koh Pha-ngan, Narivana is a hideaway heaven of affordable luxury, perfect for groups of friends or families sharing a tropical holiday. The property, rented exclusively to only one group of up to eight people at a time, consists of a main house with sitting room, dining room and fully equipped kitchen; an airy sala; four bedroom villas spaced generously over the lush tropical gardens; and a spectacular 15 m infinity pool among the palm trees. All have breathtaking views over the sea and forested hills. All bedroom villas are air-conditioned and fan-cooled and have generous private decks if you want to retreat for a while. All are simply and plainly furnished and have small ensuite bathrooms with outdoor rain showers. Three have double beds and one two singles. The top villa (Jungle villa), at the end of a long flight of stairs, is surrounded by secondary-growth rainforest and backs directly onto the national park. That means you will be visited by dragonflies, mosquitoes and bugs as well as birds and geckos, some of which may leave their droppings behind. We try and keep things as clean as possible, but if you're looking for spotless aseptic shine on every surface, this may not be the place for you. It's also perhaps not for inexperienced or very boisterous travellers. Koh Phangan is a biggish island -- the party beach of Haad Rin is a 30-minute drive away at the opposite end of the island. Thong Nai Pan's many returning fans come for the quiet and serenity, though there are a few chilled-out bars along the beach and in the village.
