With views out the front door that span from Dusit Palace, Democracy Monument, Sunam Luang Park, Wat Arun, Wat Phra Kaeo, and the Grand Palace; it is easy to forget that you have places to go. During one of those lazy-day stretches relax while watching the panoply of boats navigate the waters of the fascinating Chao Phraya River below or enjoy a beautiful fireball sunset from one of our spacious bay window seats. With an unobstructed view from both sides of the apartment, our vision of "Old Siam" during fireworks and festivals can quickly turn into a dizzying feast for the eyes. Banglapmphu is part of "Ratanakosin Island" or "Old Town" which encompasses the regions of the most important temples, the beginning of China town, the college district of the highly regarded Thammasarat University, and the lively traveler enclaves around Phra Athit, Rambutri, and Khao San Roads. Our local park, Fort Phra Sumen, hosts a variety of festivals, evening aerobics classes, morning Tai chi and Yoga. Or just sit back and relax, write in your journal, enjoy a fruit shake or lunch from one of the canal-side food vendors, and take it all in. If you are the walking sort, you can easily stroll to many of the top monuments in the area. Or if you want a different adventure, the boat pier awaits your arrival about 5 minutes away to take you on a leisurely tour of the river from which you can venture into nearly any part of the city. Just jump off at any stop and take a look around. If you desire a piece of old Bangkok while enjoying some of what new Bangkok has to offer, you'll find all that plus a cultural melting pot of tourists and locals mixing and mingling mere walking distance from our home. We live in the US, but the staff at the Juldis River Mansion will have the keys available and will help set up wifi with man in unit 1405 who maintains wifi for the building (each device must be registered). Or use any of the half-dozen Internet cafes nearby. The cleaning lady comes Sunday and Wednesday afternoons.
