Sunny Sussex home, perfect for families
Sunny Sussex home, perfect for families
Description
A comfortable spacious home ideal for a large family get-together - a characterful detached period house with a relaxed feel. Light streams in so it's ideal for reading or playing boardgames. There are two sitting rooms, one with log burner and one with open fire, plus a large carpeted conservatory with toys e.g. marble run and Lego for children. The house has a driveway and a secure garden around the house with grass areas for playing front and back, flower beds and a vegetable patch. The space The whole property (house and garden) will be private for you. The house dates from 1910 and is located in a peaceful village called Mannings Heath, a few minutes' drive away from Horsham. The reception rooms are a good size and a group of 7 people fits comfortably in the home. In effect there are four separate sitting areas: the two nice sitting rooms, the carpeted conservatory that can be more of a playroom and the dining room. So if anyone feels like a quiet cup of coffee then it is usually possible to find somewhere! The house is a family home so there are some marks and imperfections, but the house feels cared for and is clean. The garden is a lovely place to potter and relax; those who want to can play whilst those who feel more like taking it easy can use the benches and chairs around the garden. Guest access There is no problem at all with parking. The driveway has space for at least 2 cars, or you are welcome to park at the side of the quiet road immediately beyond the garden fence. For those who prefer public transport, the bus stop for Bus 17 Horsham to Brighton is immediately outside the garden. The Bus Stop for routes 74 (Horsham to Storrington) and 89 (Horsham to Haywards Heath) are about 5 minutes' walk around the corner. Making use of these buses you could find lots of lovely places to walk, and access the train network. However they don't go that often so you would need to plan your journeys in advance. Other things to note Beside the house is a pretty old hay barn. It is used for storage so will be locked, but no-one will access it or bother you during your holiday. There is a vegetable patch with courgettes, potatoes, green beans, rhubarb etc and a herb patch with lots of mint and rosemary. You are welcome to consume any of these if you would like to. There is also a green house with a few tomatoes in it. The glass is slightly damaged in places so please take care if children may be outside alone.
