Hosts Stuart and Lucy warmly invite you to The Dunedoo Shearers' Huts. The huts are separately located from the homestead, offering perfect privacy. Should you need any help though, your hosts will happily be there for you. The Huts include a queen bedroom, a second bedroom with 2 single beds, a kitchen/dining room, bathroom and sitting room. All rooms have r/c air-con and feature original artworks and ceramics including a selection created by painter/host Lucy Watts. > The space 'Bolinda Vale' is a working property located 10kms from from the nearby township of Dunedoo. It has been owned and run by four generations of the Watts family. The shearers’ huts, erected in the early 1950s when the current homestead was built, are constructed of the same local bricks and sit next to the shearing shed on a rise that gives expansive views across prime agricultural land. The property runs sheep, cattle and a cropping program. Guest access The huts offer a perfect location to use as a base from which to visit the many local attractions or just escape the everyday and indulge in breath-taking sunsets, brightly starlit night skies and quiet relaxation. The property offers multiple locations that are ideal for astrophotographers and star gazers to set up each night and watch the universe burst into life. The Central West Cycle Track passes the front gate (3kms from the Huts) making it a terrific option for cyclist enthusiasts too. This tranquil setting, just 10 minutes’ drive from the quintessential country town of Dunedoo, provides the perfect location for guest accommodation. Dunedoo offers a range of facilities including a nine-hole golf course, tennis and squash courts, bowling club and swimming pool. The recently completed breathtaking silo artwork by Australian artist, Peter Mortimer, makes a trip to the Dunedoo township a must for anyone visiting the region. Mudgee, with its award-winning wineries and acclaimed restaurants, is an easy 45-55 minute drive away. The charming historic gold mining town of Gulgong is just a 20-minute drive, and Dubbo – a little over an hour down the Golden Highway – offers the famous Taronga Western Plains Zoo and the progressive Western Plains Cultural Centre as major draw-cards for visitors. Natural attractions in the district abound. The Wellington Caves, Coolah Tops National Park and the magnificent Warrumbungles are all within convenient driving distance. Visitors who stay at the Dunedoo Shearers’ Huts will find they make an ideal base for day trips to these destinations and a relaxing haven to return to at the end of a day of exploring. For those wanting to soak up the experience of staying on a working property, peaceful walks abound and all guests are welcome to use the pool and tennis court at the homestead - just a paddock away from the huts. Other things to note Breakfast supplies are included in the price but home cooked/prepared meal options are available by prior arrangement and feature the property's freshly grown produce. The listing price includes the main bedroom, kitchen/dining, sitting & bathroom. There is a $75 fee per additional bed. This charge will only apply when other beds are needed.
