This little house is our home when we are not working and we love it. It is as secluded as you can be in Praiano, sitting in 2.5 acres of terraced olive grove, and far from other houses. All you see from the house is sea. A place to fall in love in! The space About us: We are a mixed Italian/British couple working with the UN in various parts of the world. We have been coming to Praiano and the Amalfi coast for many years, and finally decided to buy a house in order to have a permanent base where we could come and escape the madness of the world with our three little boys. The house: We fell in love with the house as soon as we saw it and knew it was where we wanted to call home. As work allows us only to return for a few periods of the year, we have decided to rent it out when we are not there. The house is one of the highest in Praiano and as secluded as you can get while still being in town. It is surrounded on all sides by olive trees and sits on 2.5 acres of terraced olive groves- and yes, we do make our own olive oil. It sleeps 4 and has 2 bathrooms. It is a small house, but this is why we love it. Plus, there is so much outdoor space that in summer you will spend most of your time outside. We have also just put in a swimming pool for use during the warmer months- surrounded by olive trees and a view of the sea. In the colder months the house's two fireplaces make it especially cosy and ideal for snuggling up and sharing a bottle of wine. When you look out from house and the land all you see is the sea- and that is all you need to feel relaxed and alright with the world! The only noise that you will likely hear is that of the bell of San Luca in the village below. The house is also located right on the "path of the gods" and so perfect for walkers. You will love this house like we do if you are looking to get away from the world and simply sit and enjoy looking at the sea. Guest access PLEASE NOTE that the Villa is located about 136 steps from the road. The house is on two floors, with one bedroom and bathroom (bath) with its own access downstairs, and the other room upstairs also with its own bathroom (shower) and entrance- perfect for hosting a family or two couples. Both rooms have amazing views over the sea, and the downstairs bedroom has a log-burner for those cosy winter nights. Upstairs there is a living room and fully equipped kitchen. There is also a fireplace. Outside is a large table overlooking the sea for stunning meals- particularly lovely at night in summer and at lunchtime in winter. We particularly like sitting there early in the morning and watching the sea. baby facilities: baby chair, cot Other things to note To reach the house, there are approximately 136 steps leading up from the road, and completed surrounded by nature, olives trees and Mediterranean flora. It is then perfect for people seeking a quiet refuge. It is though not suitable for people with walking disabilities unfortunately. The house also sits on 2.5 acres of terraced olive groves- perfect for exploring and going up the land to have a picnic and enjoy the endless sea views. Older children will love exploring, though toddlers may struggle- though we have 3 toddlers and have an area around the house which has fence all around. Finally, free parking is available on the street below the house. However, during the busy months it is extremely difficult to find a spot.
