We have koalas in our trees at various times. Local attractions include the Lal Lal Falls which has picnic/playground and b-b-que facilities. Guests can do 2km walk to the recently opened Moorabool Falls situated on Harris Road. A visit to the Lal Lal Reservoir is a must as nearby there is a viewing platform, picnic and fire pit b-ques and toilets. Also at this site is the unique and historic 19th century Blast Furnace that was used to smelter iron ore for overseas export/ domestic uses and decorative fences on Ballarat buildings. A trip to The Little Shepherd’s Daughter’s Grave (1867) in the Lal Lal State forest is an unique and moving experience. Please take flowers from the garden and water for the grave vase- with you. Other things to note Our Cottage is 15 minutes from the large, regional town of Ballarat, Vic, Australia, Ballarat has many fine restaurants, theatres and events of all sorts and the world class tourist attraction of Sovereign Hill historic gold mining township. We are 10 minutes from the village of Buninyong with cafes and restaurants. There are many lovely wineries in our area with delicious food. Our cottage is 75 minutes by car or train to the capital city of Melbourne.
