Matildas Hut: relax, unwind & recharge

Welcome to Matilda - glamping at its best: king bed, inside toilet, BBQ, awesome outdoor bath. It’s the perfect getaway to unwind, relax and enjoy in a natural bush setting. Complete privacy to recharge, reset and reconnect however be mindful no power points, no air con, no fridge, limited window screens, large esky is provided and ice available at the local servo. 5G Telstra service and Pets welcome also its cicada and bug season and checkout the guidebook for things to do. Enjoy your stay. The space The hut is very comfortable and rustic. A small solar set up powers a 12 volt water pump that supplies the bath and kitchen and 2 small lights. No power points and no fridge but we do have a large esky, so you just need a bag of ice and you’ll be all set. BBQ or a small gas burner provides cooking needs and we provide pots and pans, plates, cutlery etc. Hot water for shower, bath and sink is instant gas and a wood fire place inside for cosy winter nights, fire wood supplied however we have recently installed a gas heater for those not familiar with wood fires you will always be warm.Water supply is tank water, so please be mindful of usage. The tank water does have a yellowish tinge due to the gum leaves, we drink it but if you’d prefer not to, then feel free to bring your own drinking water. Please enjoy your stay Guest access We will give you a heads up on the morning of or the day before your arrival with directions to the hut. If you can message us on arrival to the hut, then one of us can come up and welcome you and show you a few things you need to know to make your stay more comfortable. Then you’re all set. Other things to note Just be mindful that fire restrictions are in place from September to March so maybe ask first about outdoor fires. It can get pretty warm in summer, so just remember it’s glamping with no air con. We provide a small Powertech charger for phones etc. For guests staying a bit longer we have a designated charging space in the outside cupboard housing the solar setup, USB port for iPhones, iPad etc. We are in a tick area, so treat your dogs beforehand or make sure to check them every day. Please know where your dog is at all times. We encourage you to bush walk and explore our beautiful landscape. Definitely no four wheel driving on the property. (Only to access the hut) Cicadas are present in summer. Sometimes noisy, sometimes not so bad. Nothing we can do and they only last for 6 weeks or so.
