Dryden Cottage, Whitby Harbour - Beach side

This cottage is all about the view! Beach-side location at the base of the 199 steps - perfect for exploring the beautiful historic town of Whitby. Browse in the eclectic independent shops and sample the finest seafood in the local eateries. Walk up to the abbey, stroll along the piers and collect fossils from the beach, take a ride on the steam train to the neighbouring villages and explore the moors. Please note due to the beach side location of the cottage, there is unfortunately no parking. The space The cottage is tatesfully decorated, the fitted kitchen is equipped with a fridge freezer, oven & ceramic hob, microwave, kettle and toaster, a washing machine and a dishwasher. The lounge has wonderful views onto the beach below, over the harbour, and out to sea - There is a sofa and a dining area so that you can sit and enjoy the view, and there is also a smart TV with built in freesat, and a small supply of books to keep you entertained. Stairs leading to - The compact shower room with a spacious electric shower (towels and mini toiletries are provided). The cosy double bedroom has uninterrupted sea views out of the harbour for you to enjoy without even leaving your bed! An Amazon echo show for use as an alarm clock, radio and other useful information. Bedding is provided. In the dressing room there is a wardrobe and chest of drawers along with a hairdryer, long wall mirror and chair. Dryden cottage is a perfect little hideaway for couples wishing to explore the old town, coastline and surrounding areas. PLEASE NOTE that due to the beautiful beach side location of the cottage, there is the potential for noise from the public beach and the neighbouring properties, and we are unable to offer any parking (please view the “getting around” section for further information) or view our parking guide (link sent once booked) Guest access Guests have full private use of the cottage during their stay. There is no outside space, but the beach is literally on your doorstep, and there are plenty of benches on the terraced paving of Tate Hill, or on the pier should you wish to sit outside. Other things to note The front door to the cottage is up a few steps, so guests must be able to climb stairs, Plus access to the bedroom and bathroom is via a steep narrow turning staircase, making the property unsuitable for people with mobility restrictions unfortunately. There is no parking. Strictly no smoking, vaping or naked flames inside the property, and no pets. No infants or children under the age of 10 years old as per our safety risk assessment and lack of facilities. Also please note that there is the potential for noise from the neighbouring property and close proximity of the beach.
