Cabin in Hendersonville

Modern cabin centrally located in the city of Hendersonville. You have the convenience of being in town, but will feel secluded and surrounded by nature. We are 2 miles from MainStreet - amazing restaurants, breweries, boutiques, and coffee shops! Perfectly situated to explore DuPont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest. Enjoy endless amounts of hiking, waterfalls, and the best mountain biking trails. Make meals in our fully stocked kitchen, and relax in pure comfort! The space Poppy Place is located in the heart of the best the area has to offer. The home is a passive solar custom built energy star design. It is cleaned with non-toxic earth friendly cleaners and the cleaning company receives 100% of the cleaning fee. Non toxic shampoo, conditioner and soaps are provided. The living room, dining room, kitchen and primary bed and bath are located on the first floor. The second floor has two bedrooms, one has a queen bed and the other has a queen/twin loft set up. There is also 1 full bath and laundry room upstairs. There is a deck off the back where you can relax and dine outside, as well as a large hang out area in the backyard with a fire pit. Guests will also have access to the garage to store any bicycles or kayaks, and we have a hose close for any dirty bike cleanups. We have a long set of steps to get to the front door, please keep this in mind when considering members of your party. We have a security camera on the outside of the house facing the driveway for your security when you're there, and for us when the house is vacant. It can not see into the house or any places you'd be hanging out outside, just the driveway area. In the case of snow or ice, all wheel drive is not necessary, but nice to have to get to the house until the town plows the road, which usually only happens once a year. Our private road is steep, one lane, and has two sharp turns. This is not an issue unless there is freezing weather and precipitation. Please keep this in mind depending on the time of year you are planning your visit. Please take a look at our cancelation policy, as we don't make exceptions. If you are worried at all about this when booking I highly recommend purchasing trip insurance, which is very reasonable through airbnb. I've had a guest who needed to use it, and let me know it was worth it. Things to note: Steve and I are not a management company. This is our only short term rental. We take pride in having a cozy comfortable place, and have thought of every detail throughout the house when it comes to your stay. It holds a special place in our hearts as we bought it to downsize and retire into one day. The location is excellent, in town limits right on the boarder of Laural Park, but completely secluded and tucked away. Once the Ecusta Trail (a rails-to-trail between Hendersonville and Brevard) is open, we are just .1 miles away from the bottom of the driveway. We can't wait for the trail to be completed, it will be a great place to walk, run or ride your bike. Steve loves working in the backyard, and has planted lots of ferns and moss (our favorites) along the walkways and decks to immerse yourself in nature. We are working on planting only native plants so our insects, birds, bees and butterflies will be happy. We have taken extra care with everything we have done to Poppy Place since we bought it in 2020, and hope that guests enjoy it as much as we do. We provide non toxic soaps, conditioners, shampoos, bamboo toilet paper, makeup wipes, q-tips, hairdryers and bath salts in the bathrooms. There are books, games, and puzzles to keep you occupied on rainy days or for wonderful down time spent with family. The laundry room is stocked with our favorite non toxic, locally made laundry soap. The kitchen is well stocked for any meals you feel inspired to whip up. Claudia used to be a personal chef and cooking on vacations is a must for us and we want to make sure you can cook any meals you may want to. We have used Airbnb for years and know that simple check in and check outs are important. Check in with a keyless entry is after 3pm. The only thing we require at check out is for used towels to be placed in the bathtubs and to load and start the dishwasher. Other things to note: We have a sensitive sewer pump grinder; only human waste and toilet paper can be flushed down the toilet. No wipes (even flushable ones), no feminine hygiene products (including pads and tampons) can ever be flushed down the toilets. There will be a cost of $300 if we need to have the system repaired during your stay. Guest access Guests will have the whole house to access, except for the downstairs basement room which is our owners closet where we store things for the change over process between guests. Once you check in, the garage will be available for you to use to store bikes or gear. No garage door opener is included, so you will have to push the button on the inside of the garage to access it once you’ve checked in. The entire back yard is yours to enjoy privately. Other things to note Our drive has a few sharp turns and is narrow. Please drive slowly.
