Shiva's Cottage of 5 Senses, Bhatelia, Mukteshwar

Down a short walk on a mountain path, surrounded by apple trees and the greenery of Uttarakhand, is Shiva’s Cottage of Five Senses. A place to get away from the humdrum of the city and soak in the life of the mountains, while staying in a house that provides all the comforts of home. The Cottage is meant for couples, families, pet owners, nature lovers, bird watchers, photographers, artists, and peace seekers. The space The Cottage provides accommodation for 2 couples/ families. There are 2 bedrooms (with ensuite toilets), imparting unhindered view of Himalayan snow peaks, a living-cum-dining hall with 2 sofa-cum-beds, and a dining space. Pets are welcome. There is an extra charge of Rs.500 per day for pets. Our caretaker will provide cooking, cleaning, and grocery-shopping services at no extra charge. The guests only need to pay for the groceries they order for preparing the food. There is no parking at the Cottage, but there is a safe, free parking space on the roadside near the Hanuman Temple, from where it's a 5-minute walk downhill to the Cottage. The caretaker will guide you to the parking space and accompany you to the Cottage from there. n.b: 1. For an extra charge of Rs. 800, we can arrange a bonfire with a pre-prepared wood bundle. 2. A separate room for a driver/helper is available at an extra cost of Rs.500 per day. Guest access The entire cottage, including the kitchen, living room, terrace and the gardens are accessible to the guests. The garden is enclosed and safe for pets to roam around. Other things to note Reaching here: Bhatelia is just 6 kms before Mukteshwar, the highest point of Uttarakhand. By Road: If traveling by car from Delhi, take the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Moradabad-Haldwani-Kathgodam Road. Then onwards on the Kathgodam-Bhowali-Mukteshwar Road or the Kathgodam-Bhimtal- Mukteshwar Road. It takes approx 8-9 hours to reach here from Delhi. By Train & Taxi: Trains run from New Delhi/Old Delhi stations to Kathgodam Railway Station. Hire a taxi from Kathgodam Station up to the Cottage. Its a drive of 2 hours with a nice tea break along the serpentine mountainous roads. Contact numbers for pre-booking a taxi can be provided. Location: The Cottage is located near Bhatelia Market. Hanuman Mandir (temple) on the hilltop is the closet landmark which can be seen from a distance. To reach the Cottage, follow an approach road opposite a milestone written "Bhatelia 0/Pahadpani 16" from the main Dhanachuli Road. This is a 2 minute drive, leading up to the last motorable point. This is followed by a 5 minute walk down a mountainous concrete pathway amongst the Apple Orchards and mountain greenery, to reach the cottage along with your luggage, while being helped by the caretaker. Parking: There is no parking at the Cottage, but there is a safe parking space, free of charge, on the road side near the Hanuman Temple, from where its a 5 minute walk downhill to the Cottage. The caretaker will guide you to the parking space and accompany you to the Cottage from there.
