Fingal Head is a hidden gem. Its unspoilt and uncrowded beaches stretch for miles and are only minutes from the unit. Nearby is the lighthouse on the headland and its famous basalt rock formation, popular for picnics. The unit, one of only four, is surrounded by papaya, fruit trees and passionfruit vines. A friendly cafe and the beautiful Tweed river are all less than two minutes away. Snorkeling with turtles is possible at nearby Cook Island. The space The 2-bedroom ground floor property is in a private and quiet location just a few minutes walk to two exceptional beaches. 15 minutes from the airport, 12 minutes to Tweed City shopping centre. Kingscliff's supermarket, boutiques and eateries are a 10 minute drive south. The garden is shared with our friendly neighbours. Dog-owners: please note that this means your doggies will be to be supervised. Guest access The unit is set on a large piece of land with lawns and garden beds. It is fully fenced and quite private in front of the unit. Children can kick a ball around or climb the tree. Other things to note The unit has been fitted out with quality beds, bedding, kitchen appliances and furniture. A 55” Smart TV with Netflix will help keep you entertained. However Fingal Head currently has neither a mobile phone tower nor the NBN. Reception can be patchy and the internet slow in peak holiday periods. There is a Blueray DVD so you may want to include some DVDs in your luggage. Breakfast is not provided but a few coffee capsules, teas, milk, sugar, macadamia oil, salt and pepper are provided to get your holiday started. BYO spices and ingredients if you want to cook. Decaf coffee & tea is available if you pre-order at time of booking. The Fingal Store (there is only one!) is only 40 metres from your door. They have a lot of basic foods, do a nice coffee, cooked breakfast and sell gourmet pies from Byron. Further away (perhaps 150 metres) is the quirky Sheoak cafe & gallery. They do dinner on Saturday night with live music as well as being open for breakfast and lunch daily. With these resources you don’t even need to hire a car. Grab a taxi or an Uber from the airport.
