The school house

The School House is situated up a tree lined driveway, and offers peaceful, self catering accommodation for 1-3 people. It is an 5 minute drive (3km) from the centre of Te Awamutu. The school house is situated in a rural setting, with beautiful views of the garden and surrounding countryside. Built in the 1880's and operational as a school until 1939, it has a character and history that is unique. Surrounded by trees it has a host of native birds including Tui, Fantails and Kingfishers. Being centrally located it is 30 minutes from the Waitomo Glow worm caves and 45 minutes from the Hobbiton Movie set. Surrounded by trees relax and listen to the bird song and watch the sun set over Mt Pirongia and Kakapuka. Guest access The school house is self contained with its own drive way. Other things to note Although we do not provide breakfast we do supply a loaf of bread and some butter and spreads, also eggs if the chickens are laying, milk and tea coffee, hot chocolate and milo. There is a queen bed in the bedroom, and also we can put up the hotel quality roll away bed, either in the bedroom or in the lounge behind the settee out of the way.
