Lynwood Cottage, in a secluded garden.

We are 2.5 hrs from sydney, 35 mins to Canberra. This self contained cottage is about 2km from the village of Collector. We have “Some café “ in town which has a bit of an inner city vibe and excellent coffee. Don’t miss Collector Fresh, a farm gate /providore shop. It's a great place for a stopover being close to the Hume and Federal highways or equally a place to stay and do NOTHING but disconnect and enjoy the peace and quiet. A breakfast of eggs, sourdough, honey and milk is included. The space The garden is large with lots large mature trees, elms oaks and lots of big pines. We are lucky to have rustic old sheds especially the shearing shed which you are welcome to have a look around in, mind you I might be in there doing my ceramics. The cottages northerly aspect lets lots of light and warmth in. Sit back, relax and enjoy the uninterrupted rural aspect. The best part of being here is the peace and quiet, then you can tune into the bird life and it’s sound. Disconnect from the city, and connect with nature and open space. The slow combustion fire will keep you warm on those wintry nights. A glass of red wine and a good book or a ball of clay are all that’s needed. Guest access The cottage is all yours, and the garden is too. The cottage looks onto a TSR. (Travelling stock reserve) a beautiful bit of remnant yellowbox grassy woodland. It is crown land and you can walk there. We have mowed a little track to take you pets on a walk. Please keep them on a leash as there are lots of kangaroos and other wildlife. Sometimes there is stock there too. Other things to note I always provide fresh local eggs, 2 per person per day, sourdough bread, butter, local honey and full cream milk,tea and coffee. So enough for a good breakfast. There are herbs etc if you would like in the veggie patch. When it is raining, please try not to drive up to the front door. People get bogged and it makes a mess of the lawn. At Collector Fresh you can get lots of lovely cheeses, cured meats, dairy and fresh veggies , and some staples for the pantry.
