Christopher's Homestay is a charming village-style house, in the Dalupotha area of Negombo, 10 minutes by tuktuk to Negombo Beachside and Negombo Town. The space Bedroom 1 has a standard sized double bed and a clothes hanging cupboard. The room has an attached private washroom with shower, handbasin and toilet. The room has an overhead fan and A/C. For A/C there will be a supplementary charge of Rupees 800 per night. This is because electricity is expensive in Sri Lanka, and use of A/C substantially increases our electricity costs. Most of the time the fan is enough. It rarely gets so hot that you need A/C. But if you would like to use the A/C please ask for the A/C remote control. You are most welcome. The supplementary charge will be Rs 800 per night. Bedroom 2 is in a separate annex off the verandah. It is a larger cool room, shaded by the Rose Apple tree in the garden. It also has an ensuite attached shower room with basin and toilet. It is listed separately on AirBnB as Christopher's Homestay Bedroom 2. Bedroom 3 is a single bedded annexe room independent of the main house, and is being offered at a special bargain price of 2 nights for the price of one, effectively $5/night. It is listed separately on AirBnB as Christopher's Homestay Bedroom 3. Guest access Christopher's Homestay guests have free access to all areas of the house. There is a pretty sitting room, with wide screen television with many TV channels in English, which guests are welcome to use. There is also a shady seating area outside on the verandah, which is cooled by gentle breezes from the coast. And there is a pretty garden in which guests are welcome to sit. During your stay Host Christopher (English - with 15 years Sri Lankan experience) and resident houseman Chaminda (Sri Lankan) are very happy to support travellers from their fund of local knowledge. If there's anything you need to know just ask. We are always happy to assist our homestay travellers. Other things to note Christopher's Homestay House is in the quiet Dalupotha area of Negombo, only 10 minutes by car or tuktuk to Negombo Beachside or Negombo Town. Resident houseman and car driver Chaminda will be happy to drop you off on Negombo Beachside or in Negombo Town, at a cost of Rs 700. For your return we will give you one of our cards with Chaminda's phone number. You can take a tuktuk from beachside and call Chaminda so that he can give your tuktuk driver directions in Sinhala to find our house. The house is 30 minutes from the airport. Airport pickup/drop off in our car is Rs 4000 There are several local shops in the area; a very small one at the end of our street, a small convenience shop at the end of the road, and a larger shop which has just about everything you could need, also in walking distance at the end of the road. In Negombo Town there is the large modern supermarket Arpico, and the long establish Cargills supermarket. Food: You are welcome to join us for dinner. Houseman Chaminda is a very good cook of Sinhalese-style rice and curry, which he is happy to prepare, by arrangement, in his mild, not too spicy version, suitable for Western tastes. Desert is usually fresh fruit salad and icecream.
