The Old Farmhouse

The Old Farmhouse is a renovated, 3 bedroom self contained cottage at the Sassafras Springs Estate in Ellendale with an organic vegetable garden and orchard (for guests' use) and a beautiful rainforest walk along a bubbling creek. Furnishings and finishes are as organic and non-toxic as we can make them. The space The Old Farmhouse is one of a small cluster of cottages set in nearly 50 ha of rainforest with a beautiful creek, an organic vegetable garden and orchard (for Guests use), play areas for children and rainforest walk. Available for private use or for groups or in conjunction with other cottages. Guest access Guests are welcome to pick and use seasonal produce from our organic vegetable garden and orchard and eggs from the hens. There is a Picnic Hut with BBQ, Tea House, Art House and playground. Other things to note We recommend you to purchase food for your meals on route. If you come from the north or west, the closest food store to us is a Mini IGA Supermarket at Ouse, approximately 20 minutes drive. If you come from the direction of Hobart, there is a Woolworths Supermarket in New Norfolk, which is approximately 40 minutes away. There are not a lot of options for eating out for dinner. Our organic garden usually provides some additional vegetable delights during spring and summer and our cottages have great kitchen facilities.
