Harris Cottage Self Catering

My cosy, bright and spacious cottage is has a fully equipped kitchen with an extendable breakfast bar area, two large bedrooms, one king-size bed and one doublebed. There is a cosy living room furnished with a sofa and two arm chairs, perfect for relaxing after a day exploring this beautiful island. The cottage has uninterrupted views of the Cuillins, Macleods Maidens and Loch Harport. The space Harris Cottage was built in approximately 1930 by my ancestors having left the Isle of Harris. The cottage is situated down a single track road approximately 10 minutes drive away from the village of Carbost, where you will find the world famous Talisker Distillery. Within the village itself there is the Old Inn, a lively pub which serves food and drink. Opposite Talisker, be sure to grab a coffee from Caora Dubh (Black Sheep), it is a great coffee shop, selling Artisan coffee,cakes and also grinds his own coffee beans. Further up the road there is a new opened cafe 'Donald Johns', a great place to take in the views over Carbost Village and Loch Harport. The famous Fairy Pools are a 15 minute drive away from the cottage. Within the cottage there are two small porches, one of which is equipped for your coats and boots. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, washing machine, dish washer, toaster and kettle. There is also an extendable breakfast bar area to maximise the space. The kitchen leads on to the cosy living, which includes an electric fire and a smart TV and stunning views over Portnalong and the Cuillins. From the hallway you will face on the king-size bedroom. On your left hand side in the hall, it leads you to the double bedroom as bathroom. The bathroom contains an electric shower and bath. There is a garden area with outside seating, a perfect way to soak in the scenery around. There are no street lights in the area, so the stars are visible on a clear night and if you're lucky, there might be a glimpse of the Northern Lights.
