Little Birch Cabin is surround by fantastic scenery and wildlife. We are beside the RSPB Insh Marshes nature reserve and the beautiful Cairngorm mountains. The cabin backs onto a large forest leading into Glenfeshie the Cairngorms and beyond. Red Squirrels, Badgers, Pine martins, Crested Tits and many more are frequent visitors to the garden. Loch Insh is 3 miles away. Highland wildlife park is a superb nearby attraction. It is an ideal location for all nature lovers, walkers and cyclists. The space The cabin is set in a natural Birch garden and has ample private parking for several cars. The wood burning stove makes a great addition in the winter months. The garden is a haven for wildlife and due to the fact that for many years we have put out feed for the birds, badgers, squirrels and pine martins, at the right time of year they can be viewed and photographed from the comfort of the cabin and we are very grateful to our guests for passing them on to us and allowing us to use them. Many of the pictures are displayed in the cabin. Most the wildlife pictures shown have been taken from the cabin and and just a couple very close by. The surrounding woodlands and trails can be accessed straight from the garden and no roads have to be crossed. We try and ensure the feeders have all been filled the day of your arrival but be warned they soon empty them. Guest access Guests are welcome to access all areas of the property, garden and all the surrounding woodland and trails. Access into the surrounding forests is via a path straight from the rear of the property, the trails lead for miles into the surrounding area . We also have a lock up store for cyclists to keep their bikes should they want to adventure out and leave them behind. Other things to note All bedding, tea towels and dish cloths are provided free of charge. Towels are also free of charge but only provided on request, please just let us know if you require them before your arrival. There is unlimited fibre broad band available at no extra charge for your use and a smart tv. There is an ample supply of dried logs at the cabin for use in the stove, should you wish to use it. We give guests the first basket and some sticks free of charge, then ask for £4 a basket after that. We don’t monitor this it’s purely done on an honesty basis, we just ask guests to leave the money on their departure for the baskets they have used. This means we can keep supplying guests with logs for their stay. It is none profit making it just helps to cover some of the cost of the logs. EPC rating of the cabin is E (40). PLEASE NOTE Due to ever increasing high electricity costs, unfortunately we are unable to maintain electric as all inclusive. To make it fair to all guests, (as ever guest uses varying amounts) rather than put up the price per night, we have installed a coin slot meter. Electricity is charged via the slot meter at the current tariff we are charged by our provider. We make NO profit from the coin meter. We will put £50 of credit on the meter per week, just over £7 per day, after that guests just pay for what they use. The meter takes £2 and £1 coins. We keep a supply of coins if guests want to exchange for them in the cabin and it’s down to honesty. It is a modern meter and there is a digital display indicating the amount of money left.
