The Old Whisky Still- peaceful comfort! PK11599F

Very well equipped & an ideal base for rest & activities. Just a few mins walk to Castle Menzies, the Ailean Chraggan bar restaurant, fantastic walks, River Tay, forest tracks etc. 2 min drive/easy 20 min walk to Aberfeldy for shops, fuel, cafes, food. 5-star, helpful (but v unobtrusive) host! The space Many years ago the Old Whisky Still produced the elixir of life for the Weem Inn. Renovated in 2012, the traditional thick walls and stone work, open plan layout and vaulted ceilings lend a sense of space and peace. Relax, take walks by the River Tay, the Birks Falls or Weem Woods all right on your doorstep, then settle down by the wood burning stove in this unique space! There is everything you need for a comfortable stay at the Still; linens, toiletries, kitchenware, and a basket of kindling, logs and paper. Extras include a large telly with a satellite dish and Freeview channels, a DVD player, DVDs and books. (For Prime video and Netflix you can attach your own laptop to the HDMI lead in the telly, or use the Amazon Firestick provided.) There’s a teapot, manual cafetière , coffee machine and pods , shower gel, hair care, soaps, as well as tea, instant coffee, sugar and oil, salt and pepper. Ask Bec the host if you need anything! Guest access The Still is 50 metres up from the Main Street of Weem but it’s a very easy drive on tarmac, for any vehicle. There’s a super-clean and thoughtfully furnished living/dining/kitchen space, a luxury bedroom, and an ensuite shower room. You have private front and back door entrances, your own decking and patio area, with outdoor table and chairs; a lower garden with trees and shrubs, and your own free, exclusive large parking area in the courtyard, right next to the building. Other things to note In extreme weather please contact Bec if you like, on your day/week of arrival, to find out how the roads are around Aberfeldy, and ask about alternative routes. In very icy conditions, there is a spacious free car park 40 metres from the Still down the hill, near the main road. Just for info, there is one step up into the bedroom in the Still and one step down to the ensuite shower room, please take note and be careful, as you get settled in.
