A stunning 200 year-old cottage located in the charming small village of Bouth in the Lake District, now a UNESCO world heritage region. Situated on a quiet country road and bounded on two sides by open fields, with grazing shire horses and Jersey cows, this is the idyllic country retreat. The cottage has been renovated to the highest standard whilst retaining all the charm of its period. The traditional village pub is a few metres away. Breathtaking natural scenery awaits you from the doorway. The space The architect-designed interior of this cottage has been exquisitely restored in the most beautiful, quirky and contemporary style. The original fireplace, beams, and floorboards have been exposed and walls restored using traditional lime plaster. Solid oak handmade interior doors with beautiful ironmongery and a stunning white birch staircase have been added. Downstairs is a light and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with rear access to a fabulous patio, where you can catch the sun for an alfresco breakfast and dine till late in the evening in the warmth of the sunset. The lounge area, with comfy luxurious sofas, stone flooring and wood burner is the perfect spot for cosy relaxation after a long day. There is a quality HD TV with Netflix and terrestrial channels and fast wifi. The dining area has a solid oak table with bench seating to enjoy a meal together and the light kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, with an electronic oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, food processor, comprehensive kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and washing machine. On the first floor, where the original A-frame beams are exposed to the apex of the roof, there is a spacious master bedroom with a king-size bed and a large, beautifully tiled en-suite with a walk-in high water pressure shower, high quality basin and WC. The whole house is warm and cosy with a powerful central heating system. Outside the property is a private, raised patio with a large dining table, enclosed wildflower garden with a small table and chairs nestling under the shade of a willow tree and shed for storing bikes (email owner if required). There is parking at the property, with an electric car charging option and space for two cars. A 10 minute drive away is Ulverston, where there are very good restaurants, supermarkets and independent shops. This part of the Lake District does not suffer from the traffic queues and congestion of Windermere and busy places yet it’s quick to drive to other parts on quieter roads. It’s a great centre to explore the region. The elderly or those with restricted mobility are not recommended to stay. No high heels can be worn anywhere in the cottage due to damage risk. Superfast EE Fibre 67 broadband is provided via the wifi. The HD TV has smart features, enabling you to access BBC iplayer etc and FREE ACCESS to Netflix. In winter, a starter pack of logs for the fire is provided. The cottage has excellent central heating so it's cosy in the winter. The large walk-in shower has a strong water flow. There is an iron and ironing board. Outside is an electric vehicle charge point, which is available on request at extra cost.
