Description
Violet is a vintage, traditional shepherds hut, sited 100m from Walltown Crags and within the dark skies of Northumberland where the milky way can be seen with the naked eye. It's a short drive to the popular town of Haltwhistle with its excellent transport links and has the benefit and convenience of a bus stop just outside. The hut enjoys uninterrupted views of Hadrians Wall & North Pennines AONB. Perfect for a relaxing short break or stopover for walkers walking the National trails. The space Violet our vintage shepherds hut is situated in an enclosed corner of the garden of our home, with its own seperate gated access. She is a large 20ft x 8ft providing a roomy and comfortable glamping experience. Violet has a fully en suite toilet/shower room, quirky, wood burning cooking stove, full size double bed with memory foam mattress, induction hob (for days when you don't want to light the stove!), toaster, sofa, dining table together with and outside patio furniture and bbq (charcoal not supplied). The hut has stunning uninterrupted views across to the North Pennines AONB. She offers the perfect rustic glamping experience, in a beautiful, peaceful location under the Northumberland dark skies where the milky way can be seen with the naked eye on a clear dark winters night (regular stargazing events are available locally). If you want a camp site with a club house and disco, a stay in Violet isn't for you, but if you enjoy, peace, solitude, beautiful views, walks, nature, stargazing and history then she couldn't be more perfect. Being located right on both the Hadrians Wall Path, Hadrians Cycleway and Pennine Way, she also offers a perfect and quirky stopover for walkers and cyclists, and with both the local pub and tea room being within walking distance (0.7 miles/15 min walk) there are a number of great, handy food options for anybody without transport. Oh, and don't be fooled by our postcode and postal address, whilst our postal town is Brampton, this is 10 miles away. We are firmly in Northumberland on the western edge of the Northumberland National Park. We provide an initial supply of wood for the hot tub which should be sufficient for your a decent soak each day of your stay provided the fire is lit and tended properly and materials are not wasted. The hot tub is completely off grid so has no jets or lights. As we cannot always be around ahead of check in and once lit, the fire must be tended to keep it burning, the HOT TUB WILL NOT BE PREHEATED ahead of your arrival, so please only book if you are happy to embrace the heating of the hot tub as part of the fun of your glamping experience. We are happy to light it for you during check in, if requested, provided you intend remaining on site. Heating should take approx 1 hour to heat (depending upon your proficiency in heating and tending to it and external temperatures). As stated, the hut is in the bottom corner of our garden so whilst very private, the exterior is within view of the house. The hot tub area is, however, completely screened off and cannot be seen at all from the house. Guest access Private car parking is available on site for one car only, approximately 50m from the hut. There is no parking at the hut itself. Other things to note Due to the amount of additional work involved in emptying, cleaning and refilling the hot tub between guests, as well as the usual cleaning of the hut, laundering of towels and linens, we never accept requests for one night stays as these are simply not feasible for us. Please note, as we are a registered holiday accommodation provider it is a requirement that all guests are required to check in by providing us with their full home address ahead of arrival. Please note that this is a pre requisite of your booking and non negotiable.
