Romantic hideaway cottage and garden in a secluded location in Tighnabruaich. It's been used as an artist's home since 2003 and is ideal for a romantic getaway. Enjoy open plan living with a contemporary beach house feel overlooking a mature private garden in the stunning surroundings of Argyll. Booking is essential for restaurants and cafes. The cottage is not suitable for children or pets. The space The cottage has an open plan living space with a wood burning stove and modern fitted kitchen. From the living space french windows lead on to a veranda which overlooks the private garden. The entrance hallway, which can be used as a dining room, leads through to the double bedroom and bathroom. Light "New England" colours are used throughout the cottage to create a calm and peaceful space. Open Plan Living Space The living area has comfortable seating (settee and three arm chairs), wood burning stove, radio, CD player, TV, and Wi-Fi. We do not have terrestrial or satellite reception, but the TV has an Amazon Firestick so you can still watch live TV or on demand services such as BBC iPlayer. An initial supply of logs and kindling will be provided on arrival. We would request that you buy additional logs or kindling from one of the local stores. The kitchen has an induction hob, freestanding double oven, microwave oven, and integrated fridge. A freezer is located in the adjacent studio annex. The kitchen cupboards are fully stocked with crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and tea towels. Tea, coffee, and sugar is provided along with the usual dry store cupboard staples and cleaning products. Bedroom The bedroom has a double bed and built-in wardrobe/storage space . The vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board is stored in the bedroom cupboard. There is a dressing table - a hairdryer is stored in the drawer. Shower Room This has an electric shower and heated towel rail. Towels are provided along with basic toiletries. Hallway/Dining Room The front door opens on to a hallway which has a dining table and seating for four. It has a storage bench and a variety of books and guides on wall mounted shelves. Double doors lead into the living area and kitchen. Heating Electric heating is provided throughout as an addition to the very efficient wood burning stove. We would appreciate you switching off the heating when you leave and when you do not need it. Please note that we do not allow children, not because we do not like them, but because we feel that the cottage is not suitable. There are potential hot surfaces (wood burner) and sharp edges, and there are two ponds in the garden with streams each side of the cottage. Also we do not allow dogs. Guest access Guests have full and exclusive access to the cottage and private gardens. Other things to note The cottage sits at the end of a private track/driveway and can be accessed by car and on foot. Parking is provided next to the cottage. There is a small flight of stairs leading to the front door and is therefore unsuitable for wheelchair users. There is a washing machine and freezer for your use located in the studio space adjacent to the cottage. We provide some logs and kindling for the wood burner on your arrival. More logs and kindling can be bought from one of the local stores. Mobile phone coverage can be patchy in this area of Argyll. Smoking is not permitted in the cottage.
