Description
Lovely, warm, fully modernized cottage set in 3 acre garden with spectacular views across Lamlash bay. Surrounded by forest, fields and abundant wildlife, yet 500 meters down a beautifully wooded (and occasionally steep!) track are the yacht harbour and all village amenities, including shops, tea rooms, restaurants, pubs, playgrounds, beaches, etc. The space Heather Park is a completely renovated typical Arran Island Crofter's cottage. It has beds for eight (or even nine or ten) and two bathrooms (with two toilets, two showers - but only one has a bath). It is neat, clean, cozy and warm, with a wood-burning fireplace in the living room and electric heating throughout (partly generated by geothermal energy and solar energy). It is filled with beautiful original artwork by renowned local artists. The kitchen, conservatory and lounge are spacious. The house is isolated and quiet, surrounded by fields and trees and nature, but also just a short walk down a beautiful wooded path are the central marina, pier and amenities such as pubs, shops, market, tea room, golf course, tennis, pharmacy, etc. Wireless Internet, TV and DVDs as well as CDs, board games, puzzles and books are at your disposal. Guest access Our guests have full access to all the grounds of the property. They have exclusive use of the cottage, which includes the spacious kitchen, a lounge with fireplace in the longhouse (we give you kindling and a bag of 8-9 logs for every 2-3 days booked, and more wood is inexpensive and available on site or in local shops), a conservatory with spectacular views, three bedrooms (one downstairs, two upstairs), two bathrooms ( with two toilets, two showers, but only one bath) and a dining room with table for eight. There is ample parking on site. Other things to note The property is frequently visited by woodland creatures such as red squirrels, pheasants, rabbits, many kinds of garden birds and owls, and, in the horse paddock at the back, deer. For this reason we do not want pet dogs on the property. Please note that the track is steep in sections, and the walk up the hill can be strenuous, especially for very small children and for elderly guests, who can take longer than ten minutes to walk it. The track has been concreted for easy and secure driving (see photos).
