Dogs are very welcome, making it an excellent choice for a peaceful countryside break. Original oak beams, thick stone walls, and an impressive inglenook fireplace with wood-burning stove create a warm, cosy retreat for year-round stays. Finished and furnished to a high standard, this luxury self-catering cottage features crisp white cotton bed linen, plump pillows and duvets, and a spacious bathroom with a large bath and shower. The fully equipped kitchen includes integrated appliances and Nespresso machine, while free Wi-Fi and Smart TVs add modern comfort. Outside, guests can enjoy a good-sized enclosed garden with decking, BBQ, and outdoor seating — perfect for relaxing after a day of cycling or mountain biking in the Forest of Dean. A welcome hamper is provided along with essential starter supplies including tea, coffee, and firewood during the cooler months (October–March). All bed linen and towels are included. Ideally located just a short walk from Clearwell Castle, the Butchers Arms, and the acclaimed Tudor Farmhouse, the cottage is a fantastic base for walking, cycling, and mountain biking, with easy access to Forest of Dean cycle routes, mountain bike trails, and the Wye Valley. A small selection of children’s toys and books is also provided. 🌿 Garden & safety The garden is enclosed at the rear; however, it cannot be guaranteed to be fully dog- or child-proof. Children and dogs should be supervised at all times. 🚗 Parking Free roadside parking is available outside the cottage. There are no parking restrictions in the village; we recommend parking on the roadside opposite the property (same side as the school). Guest access You will have access to the whole house and garden. There is a key-safe located at the property to enable you to arrive and depart at a time convenient for you. Other things to note We will provide a ‘starter supply’ of firewood, firelighters (enough for your first fire) tea, coffee, milk, sugar, basic cleaning supplies such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and toilet rolls to get you started.
