The accommodation is a beautifully converted horse truck in a secluded hamlet with breathtaking views. Inside you will find a king bed snug, woollen throws, log burner + electric heating, kitchenette, power shower, towels, board games, magazines, tea & coffee plus all the essentials you need for your stay. The space Tucked away next to our converted barn, The Lazy Mare boasts stunning views towards Exmoor and across the Bristol Channel towards Wales on clear days. Set in your own private paddock you will be greeted with a cosy interior full of character and charm. Guests receive £10 off your breakfast / brunch bill at Shack & Pantry, Braunton. You can also order a graze box or picnic in advance of your stay for your arrival. You access this via a side (brown) door just next to the Lazy Mare. The location is private and secluded, set within its own large gated paddock with landscaped garden area. It’s the perfect base for walkers, cyclists, surfers or anyone wanting to explore North Devon. You really get a sense of escaping everyday life, being away from it all yet within easy reach of stunning beaches, coastal walks and quaint villages. A number of cycle routes and scenic walks are accessible direct from The Lazy Mare, meaning those looking to retreat don’t need to venture too far to experience the great outdoors. Entered via it’s own gated garden, you access the Lazy Mare up a small staircase leading you to the balcony where you can make the most of the views. Inside is a lounge area with comfy armchairs, Bluetooth Roberts Radio, board games, magazines and log burner with enough logs and kindling for your stay. At the far end is a beautiful snug-style bedroom with king bed. The kitchen area includes electric oven, gas hob, a small fridge with freezer compartment plus all your glamping essentials. The small en suite has a power shower, wash basin and heated towel rail. External access is provided to your own private indoor toilet just 20 steps away. Both doors from the lounge open to the balcony where you can enjoy al fresco dining or simply bring the outside in whilst enjoying creature comforts. Outside you will find a private, festoon-lit landscaped garden area with fire pit and charcoal BBQ. There are also deckchairs to laze in and watch the clouds go by. This cosy accomodation is delightful in the summer surrounded by birdsong though also great for a winter getaway, playing board games by the fire with a glass of wine. Additional electric heating is provided to keep you warm until the fire gets going. Single night stays will incur a £35 surcharge during low season - please message. Guest access There is one parking space in front of The Lazy Mare. Access is gated via a short path next to the barn, leading you to the open views and steps up to the balcony / entrance. Other things to note We will email you a week prior to your stay with directions, a menu and further details about your arrival. If you arrive after 7pm there is a chance we may not being able to respond immediately, please read the arrival notes carefully as we are located on a lane with a number of farms that have similar names. We are in a rural location up an un-surfaced track that is often bumpy and not suitable for sports vehicles. Wi-Fi is via a satellite connection due to our rural location and sometimes not as reliable as a wired connection, it may also be intermittent during bad weather. We have a friendly cat that you might see around though she is not allowed inside The Lazy Mare. PLEASE NOTE We have lovingly designed the interior and use premium bedding, woollen throws and duvets for your comfort and in line with the accommodation offered. Please take extra care with make-up, fake tan, tea & coffee etc on the bedding. As a small business we are unable replace these items on a regular basis.
