Welcome to Poggiodoro, our 16th century stones' villa located in the countryside of Anghiari. The House offers stunning views, charming and furnished interiors providing all type of comforts: a beautiful fireplace that will keep the ambient warm even in winter, a big private garden where you can enjoy the open air and have lunch under the shade of pergola, with BBQ, fantastic in the warm seasons, a panoramic pool to spend great moments with friends, to be shared with the hamlet guests The space Poggiodoro is located not far from the fascinating medieval town of Anghiari (in Arezzo surroundings) which was theatre of a famous war between Florence and Milan in 1440, it is one of the hundreds most beautiful Italian villages. Poggiodoro is stone villa of 16th century, before it was a tobacco drier, freshly renovated by the two owners Anna e Luca, both architects, and published on the most important magazines of architecture and interior decoration (as Quin, Ville&Casali, Case&Country, Mojstan, House&Garden UK). Poggiodoro allows you to enjoy a property equipped with every comfort, where spend unforgettable days while you are relaxing with our family and friends, it is truly set in a beautiful location, the views of the Tuscan countryside are stunning. The house itself has a wonderful rustic feel with wood beams and stone walls as well as having elements of modern design and comfort. This cosy countryside house has two independent entrances from the private garden full of aromatic plants. One entrance is to the charming living room with antique furniture, a big sofa and 16th century stone sculpted fireplace (you can feel the typical smoke smell inside), dining area near the panoramic windows that give a great natural light in all seasons. The other house entrance is in the big kitchen, with 16th century stone sculpted top and sink, modern equipment with high quality appliances including a refrigerator with freezer, oven, microwave, water boiler, toaster, American coffee machine, slow juice extractor and all the basic kitchen wares and utensils; you will also have other food basics to facilitate your Italian staying as spices, pepper, salt, sugar, instant coffee, tea and herbal teas. An old walnut table and chairs where take breakfast, two ancient cupboards and the great door window that give seeing on tuscany landscape complete charm of the room. It is perfect for having days/nights in and cooking up a tasty meal. There is a nice big table in the front room which would be perfect for family meals. At the ground floor there is a relaxing double king size room , The Angels Room, with a door window to the garden that give seeing on a hedge of lavender, a bathroom with ceramic sink on ancient stone top, shower and washing machine with a little window through which you see olive trees. The ancient stone staircase leads to the upper floor, where there is a living relaxing area with the infrared sauna and the alcove double queen bed , The Sunset Lounge, with a big panoramic window through which you can see the pleasant Tuscan valleys and sunsets, drinking an herbal tea. The Infrared Sauna will give you a wellness time to spend with your friends. There is , two steps upper, the bedroom with twin canopy beds and an ancient wooden chest of drawers, The Byzantium Bedroom; from the Sunset Lounge , two steps upper, there is the main double bedroom with a king size canopy bed, The Romeo and Juliet Bedroom, that have a romantic and panoramic overhead view through the window . Upstairs there is a bathroom with a modern sink on an old stone top, shower with seat and windows to the private garden. From the living room you can access to the private and panoramic garden, surrounded by rosemary and lavender hedges, on two levels, equipped with sunbeds, BBQ, dining area under the shade of a pergola covered with wisteria, fantastic in the warm season, a big stone table between the olive trees, a relaxing lounge area with 4 armchairs, where you can spend your relaxing moments with your family and friends. Poggiodoro is the half of an ancient stone house and tobacco drier: the other part is Tobacco Loft, our other property rentable if you want to spend your holidays with friends or relatives. Property is surrounded by a big garden and sunflowers fields, if you walk for a few steps through this garden, you arrive to the panoramic swimming pool shared with the other guests of the houses of the hamlet. Pool is equipped with sunbeds, shower, oven for bread and pizza, BBQ, two pergolas with grapes. The access to the property is via an unpaved but well-maintained road suitable to any car, parking is in the property. You will arrive in La Palaia, you can leave your car in the parking , near a great cypress tree. Then after rising a short stone stairs, you can walk trough Palaia garden with lavender hedges, and arrive to Poggiodoro property and its private garden. Other things to note If you wish to rent another typical tuscan house near Poggiodoro where your friends will spend holidays as your neighbours, you can do it in Tobacco Loft , the other our house in the hamlet of Palaia.
