Cosy Hiker’s Cottage at the bottom of Snowdon

Our cottage is the perfect base for those looking to tackle Snowdon, walk in the Glyders or climb in the Llanberis Pass or Llanberis’ slate quarries. Ideally situated between Llanberis and the Pen y Pass car park, and only 200m from the park and ride for easy access to two of Snowdon’s most popular paths, or to Llanberis (£2 one way or £3 return - you can also pay by card now). The space The cottage is suited for one or two couples, or a small family. In the lounge you will find a large sofa, Chesterfield armchair and a new log burner. There is a small library of outdoor books, climbing guides and a selection of board games. We do not have a TV in the cottage but we have fibre broadband. The dining room has a Bavarian dining table with seating for 6. We have electric radiators (one in each bedroom and one in the living room) as we do not have central heating. We have a log burner in the living room. We provide one tub of logs, a small bucket of kindling and some firefighters and matches. More info can be found in the house manual. The kitchen is fitted with an induction hob, oven, small fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, a Nespresso machine, washer-dryer and dishwasher. Upstairs there are two spacious double bedrooms, each with a double bed and plenty of wardrobe space. The front bedroom also has a desk and chair. HOUSE RULES: Please read the house rules before booking and arriving at the house. We will send a reminder of the check-out rules the day before checkout. CLEANING FEE: The cleaning fee is set by the cleaning company we use. Guest access There is parking for one car on the road directly in front of the property. There is a small car park (Maes Parcio) just past the pub where we have been asked by the local council to advise guests to park. Other things to note The phone reception is poor in the house, but resting your phone on one of the rear windows will usually get a signal. We now have super fast fibre Wi-Fi though. The shower is electric. Some guests struggle to find the right setting. We find that if this happens, put both settings to medium and let it run for a couple of minutes seems to work. It is a new, more powerful shower (Summer 24) so it does work but takes a bit of patience! The closest shops, restaurants and cafes are 2 miles away in Llanberis. The village has a pub that serves real ales, food and has a pool table. There is a children’s play area in the village, turn right just before the pub. The house is on the Welsh 3000 route so it’s the perfect location for a stop off on the way past.
