The space Located on the hill overlooking the Alta Val di Vara, the apartments are surrounded by the greenery of the chestnut woods, the farm's vegetable gardens and plenty of outdoor space where you can rest and enjoy the "noises" of the countryside. It is the ideal place to relax, benefit from the tranquility and clean air (there are no industrial settlements in the area and traffic is really low). For us, it is important that our guests can enjoy moments of serenity, of complete relaxation in a truly natural environment, where the only sounds are the singing of birds, the call of roe deer, or our work in the fields and some sporadic vehicle passing below in the provincial road. Also remarkable is the night show with the lights off, especially when the moon is missing: in the sky a myriad of stars and constellations frame us! The apartments are new, resulting from the total renovation of two rustic buildings. They are bright and comfortable two-room apartments, simply furnished according to rural taste, with wood or iron materials. There are 4 apartments, located in two recently renovated buildings. We have given particular importance to thermal insulation, using the nine-centimeter coat on the walls of the facades, in the roof the wood and the Italian cork panels, the fixtures are all wood with shatterproof glass-chamber and flap door. They are each about 40 square meters, consisting of a spacious double bedroom with its own wardrobe and the possibility of adding a bed, a full bathroom with shower and window, a living room with a sofa bed and a kitchenette (equipped with dishes and a fridge), and are equipped with bathroom, kitchen and bed linen. The heating for each apartment is autonomous with a gas boiler (also for hot water) and with a pellet stove (adjustable and with a fan). Guest access We do not serve breakfast, possibility to book dinners. We have a barbecue area with wood and tables available for guests to use. Other things to note The company is located in a hilly area of the upper Val di Vara, at an altitude of 400-500 m. The part used as a vegetable garden and orchard reaches almost a hectare and in addition there is the chestnut forest. It is cultivated with the utmost care for the environment, without chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Alongside tradition, of course, up-to-date cultivation practices are carried out: drip irrigation, mulching, but manual or mower "weeding" remains. The farm produces carefully recovered ancient varieties of local beans recognized in the regional Atlas of traditional Ligurian products: Ballin (called Fagioli dell'olio according to the ancient barter between the coast with olive oil and our territory), Quarantin (medium-fast growing and cultivated in the past in association with corn), Fagiolana di Torza (with this variety we are part of the Slow Food Community for the province). The same recovery was carried out for the old varieties of apples: the Musona apple, the Stolla, the Carla, the Ruggine. To all this is added the cultivation of vegetables according to the seasonal rhythm: in spring broad beans, peas, salads, wild herbs (in our dialect Prebuggiun); in summer zucchini, tomatoes, green beans, peppers, eggplant, potatoes, ...; in autumn cabbage, fennel, ...; winter salads, pumpkins, cardoons and many cabbages. For a very specific choice, we do not raise any animals, as our time is all absorbed by a very traditional type of agriculture, which involves a lot of effort and also our typical territory of the Ligurian Apennines is composed of small strips. The classic agricultural activity is accompanied by the transformation of our vegetables in the laboratory: eggplant in oil, sweet and sour vegetables, jams, biscuits, elderberry syrup.
