The “Casa do Feitor” is a part of an old house in Quinta do Vilar, located in the Douro Valley. You'll be surrounded by vineyards, olive trees, fruit trees and vegetable gardens. There are farm animals and a mediterranean forest with oak, cork oak and arbutus trees. This is an eco-system which we look after with the utter most love and respect. It's our mission to honour, regenerate and preserve this system by respecting its identity including all the elements which take part in it. The space <<<<<< With a lot of effort and dedication, we’ve finally managed to repair the entire access path, making it much easier for our dear guests to reach us. We’re truly delighted and can’t wait to welcome you!>>>>>> The accommodation is the former overseer’s house called “Casa do Feitor”. It is connected to a 100-year old larger house (which we are restoring step by step using traditional methods and simplicity). Casa do Feitor is a fully restored one-floor house with two bedrooms, one bathroom, an open-plan kitchen, and a living room. Nestled in a quiet, cheerful, and cozy environment, it is surrounded by life and charm. There’s a balcony to enjoy your meals (traditionally where the farm’s workers would have their meals). There’s a wi-fi router, but as the farm is very remote, sometimes the internet might be a little slow. The kitchen is equipped with all basic appliances and utensils. There is a washing machine, and in winter there’s a salamander fireplace for heat. There are additional buildings on the property, including the main house up the hill, wine cellars, and agricultural sheds. To all who wish to visit us, we can also provide experiences at the farm: grape harvest; grape stepping method; fruit harvest; pruning ... according to season. Throughout the year - walks along the farm and forest; wild life watching, enjoying the contact with nature; the tranquility and harmony of this place are always available. Not included in the price per night: Depending on the season, we can provide a basket with seasonal produce, as well as our olive oil and organic wine.
