Cosy Corner, a wonderful Peak District retreat

Description

This cosy, private corner of our home in Peak Forest village has stunning views of Snelslow Plantation and is ideal for accessing all that the Peak District National Park has to offer. Tucked away from all roads, it is very quiet and you'll have beautiful views of the surrounding fields with sheep, horses, hens and other wildlife...ideal for those who just want to sit and stare…but with routes from the doorstep, and many more not too far away, it’s also ideal for walkers and cyclists. The space Bedroom with one double bed. En-suite with shower, basin and toilet. Guests have access to a private sitting area with FreeSat TV, dining table and a log-burner for a cosy night in plus a kitchen which is equipped with oven, hob, microwave and fridge. Please note that the accommodation is not suitable for young children. It is 'upside down' - the 'seating area' is upstairs and there isn't any form of door or barrier at the top of the stairs so a crawling baby or toddler could easily fall down them. Apologies but this is not a risk we are comfortable taking. Tea, coffee, sugar and a jug of milk are supplied and electricity, bed linen, towels, Superfast Wi-Fi and initial logs for the fire are included. There is an outside sitting area for eating/barbecuing (you'll need to bring/purchase charcoal) but given you’re on holiday why not get someone else to cook…the village pub is a 5 minute walk away and it’s only a short drive to many other good eateries. Guest access You will have your own parking space at the top of the drive and we can provide cycle storage. Access is via a cobbled courtyard and there is a large-ish step into the house so unfortunately the property is not suitable for those with limited mobility. During your stay We always aim to welcome guests in person but from then on we will leave you to enjoy your stay in peace. If you need help or require information either use AirBnB messaging or come and knock on the door. Other things to note Peak Forest is approx. 6 miles from the spa town of Buxton, renowned of course for its mineral water but also the impressive Opera House and Pavillion Gardens. We’re also halfway between Tideswell and Chapel-en-le-Frith (4 miles in each direction) and within a short drive of Mam Tor, Castleton (for Blue John caves and jewellery), Edale (for Pennine Way and Kinder Scout), Eyam (famous for its response to the arrival of the Black Death), the awe-inspiring Chatsworth House with its gold-leaf windows and extensive (free to access) Estate grounds….and much more!
