We also have plenty of common areas, communal kitchen at your use as well. The space This house is a 200-year-old historical building, originally owned by the Italian Fabiani family. One of their daughters, Esterina Fabiani, fell in love with a promising Albanian man, Kel Naraci. After their marriage, she moved permanently to Shkodër, where this house became part of a beautiful cross-cultural story. In 1944, with the arrival of the Communist regime, Esterina’s family was forced to flee to Italy. Private property was banned, and the house was confiscated by the state and used as a social housing building until 1992. Years later, Esterina’s son Nikolin (Niko) Naraci returned from Italy with his wife Alma Bazhdari. They found the house severely damaged after decades of neglect, and together began the long process of restoring it. After Niko’s passing in 2006, Alma continued caring for the house, pursuing her dream of creating a social space and meeting place rooted in history, culture, and community. In 2010, several developers attempted to purchase the property to demolish it and build a multi-storey building. Despite many challenges, Alma and her daughter Ani refused. Today, they continue to protect the house, preserving its original character and standing against gentrification. This is not just a place to stay — it’s a living home with a story. 🐾 A Note for Animal Lovers We share the house with 3 friendly dogs and 1 cat, all rescued from the streets of Shkodër. They are part of the family and add to the warm, homey atmosphere of the place. Guest access You will have your own private room and personal bathroom. The kitchen, garden, patio, and other areas of the house are shared with the hosts. We are quiet and reserved, and we fully respect our guests’ privacy — you’ll have your space to relax and feel at home. The house is equipped with fast fiber-optic internet, ideal for remote work or streaming. Your room is located on the second floor of the house.
