The Rhynd Farmhouse

The Rhynd farmhouse was built well over a century ago and has recently undergone a huge renovation. With underfloor heating it features a super king bed with en-suite, 3 double bedrooms and a single. Downstairs, a large dining room, with open fireplace, a TV room, sitting room and large kitchen. With a touch of luxury and stunning views, The Rhynd is the perfect place to relax. Tentsmuir Forest and Kinshaldy beach are both within walking distance, St Andrews and Dundee are only 15 minutes away. The space The Foster family has owned the Rhynd since the early 1950s when Major Derek Foster bought it as part of Leuchars Estate. His son John and his wife Clarinda farmed the land from the early 1970s and their youngest son Ed now helps out. The Rhynd was predominantly a dairy, which remains to this day in one of the buildings, but it was also a base for farming cereals. The Rhynd Farmhouse recently underwent a huge transformation, careful attention was given to all aspects of the property to ensure that original features still stand out: From a roll top bath and spiral staircase to brass sockets and the original pantry. This property has loads of character. A breakfast basket is available on arrival, containing bacon and sausages from local butcher Minick of St Andrews, bread from the famous Barnett's Bakery and eggs from our own farm! Guest access The guests can access all parts of the house, as well as the large garden. Other things to note Our farmhouse is based on the Rhynd Farm, next to The Rhynd wedding venue and cafe. Our cafe is open Friday to Sunday, 9am-5pm and serves farm to fork produce. Onsite we have our Rhynd Fitness Gym and Scottish Clay Shooting Centre offering clay shooting, archery and axe throwing. These meals change on a regular basis based on what the farm has produced that week.
