Description

Converted milking parlour overlooking the valley and hills of beautiful mid Somerset. At the foot of the Mendip Hills yet close to the Somerset Levels, the Udder Shed is an ideal base for exploring the local area. Local attractions include the Royal Bath & West Showground, Glastonbury Festival, The Newt, and National Trust & English Heritage properties such as Stourhead, Alfred's Tower, Glastonbury Abbey and Tor, Montacute House, Wells Cathedral. Above all else, just sit & enjoy the views. The space Note: One king-sized bed only. Max. 2 adults. Maesdown is renowned for having stunning panoramic views across Somerset (in fact, on a very clear day, Gold Cap on the Dorset Jurassic coast is just about visible). On retirement from dairy farming, the redundant milking parlour has been renovated and furnished with a contemporary modern feel, enabling guests to stay and enjoy those magnificent memorable views. Although this is no longer a working dairy farm, it's still a farm and there may be cattle (hence why we cannot accept pets) and tractors on the surrounding land. Sit back and sip your wine while watching the harvest! Please note that the Udder Shed can only accommodate TWO adult guests (king-sized bed). Travel cots or blow-up beds can not be accommodated anywhere in the property, and there is strictly NO sleeping on the sofa or infants sharing the bed. We ask that you respect this. Guest comfort is the highest priority. Patrick's other daughter, Nadine, is a qualified Massage Therapist specialising in neck massage, lymphatic drainage, relaxation and sensory or anxiety related issues, operating from her private massage cabin at the farm (near The Udder Shed). If this is something which you would like to book separately, please let us know. Guest access Guest have full access to the Udder Shed, with its own private outdoor space and parking. Other things to note The Udder Shed does not support EV charging, therefore guests found to be using power sockets for EV charging will result in a chargeback based on the full capacity of the vehicle's battery for each breach plus termination of the guest's stay. The closest official EV charging points can be found in nearby Shepton Mallet and Bruton. NEW!!!! Patrick's other daughter, Nadine, is a qualified Massage Therapist specialising in neck massage, lymphatic drainage, relaxation and sensory or anxiety related issues. She is also offering massage for 'the terrified'! operating from her private massage cabin at the farm (near The Udder Shed). If this is something which you would like to book separately, please let us know.
