The space We welcome you in an independent little house of 33 m2 with a bedroom, bathroom and living room/kitchen opening onto a private terrace. It is ideal for a couple or a single person. It is attached to the large house we live in, my husband and I, surrounded by 17 hectares (42 acres) of land, no neighbours within 2 km and located on the south side of the Montagne de Lure, above the village of Cruis in the Alpes de Haute Provence. You have access as well as us to the whole property. This is the Forcalquier area, between the Mediterranean and the Alps, in the heart of Jean Giono’s country, with strong, varied and contrasting landscapes. The site is set in an exceptional location. At 900 meters above sea level, we enjoy a fantastic view and hundreds of uninhabited acres offering a rich biodiversity for nature lovers: mushroom pickers, butterfly hunters, gatherers of medicinal and aromatic herbs, hikers, observers of the sky and the stars… Absolute calm reigns here. NB : You have to know that sometimes in full summer, it can have a lot of wasps around the swimming pool. Around us: - 125 km (1h20) from Marseille, - 100 km (1h) from Aix en Provence, - 90 km (1h45) from gorges du Verdon, - 80 km (1h20) from Mont Ventoux, - 38 km from Manosque, - 25 km from Sisteron and Banon, - 18 km from Forcalquier and Les Mées, - 6km from the Saint Etienne Orgues (drugstore, doctor, dentist, small supermarket), - 5 minutes from the village of Cruis (bakery, grocery, newspapers), - may open weekly or biweekly markets - several garage sales, flea markets, etc. Don’t hesitate to contact us for more information. Equipment and services: - fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, microwaves, oven) and dining area open to the surrounding nature and overlooking a terrace, - bedroom with large double bed, desk, wardrobe, bathroom/shower/WC, - bed linen, towels and kitchen towels are provided, - Internet access (bandwidth is limited, no streaming video), - access to the washing machine in the house, - shared access to the pool (approximately from late May to late September, depending on the weather), - outdoor games (ping-pong, pétanque, badminton, Viking Kubb), - garden table and chairs, deck chairs. Guest access Travellers have access to: - pool from June to the end of september, - washing machine, - chairs, table tennis, boules, badminton, Viking Kubb, - wireless internet, as well as to the whole property. Other things to note To get to us from the village, you have to take a dirt track for about 1.5 km. The road is stony and depending on the season, storms, etc. it can be in more or less good condition. Don't worry, just drive slowly. All cars pass. However, if you have a very low-slung sports car, you probably wouldn't like... A solar power plant has been built on the hill opposite our house for the autumn of 2023 and the winter of 2024. It's not visible from everywhere, but it's clearly a close industrial presence that doesn't sit well with the otherwise magnificent natural surroundings of the estate (see pictures).
