Stylish 1 bed with large plant filled garden
Description
I have spent years renovating my home, mixing together old reclaimed wooden floors, exposed bricks and industrial lighting with a sleek black kitchen, crittall windows and an eco wood burning stove. It's created a space that feels part country cottage part loft apartment, which I absolutely love. It's situated next to Broadway Market, Columbia Road Flower Market & London Fields (the heart of Hackney) with a large private garden which is perfect for entertaining or relaxing in. The space Hidden away behind a white gate on a quiet backstreet, you will first walk into my large patio garden, which in the summer is blooming with all sorts of plants and flowers. The first room you'll find is the kitchen, bespoke made from black recycled paper, with a hidden dishwasher, fridge freezer and built in stove and sink. The kitchen dining table comfortably sits four people, and the oak wooden floors running throughout were salvaged from a London restaurant, so are old and full of character. The living room features the original red brick fireplace, now restored with a working eco log burner which makes the whole flat really warm. The sofa is a vintage Conran, and the throws and cushions have mostly been bought back from Morocco. The Smart TV streams Netflix, BBC, and most other standard channels. The bathroom is covered in tiles which I found in Morocco and shipped back. I adore the herringbone design - it makes having a bath or shower really beautiful. The sink unit is made from the same material as the kitchen, with old gas pipes as taps. You can help yourself to toiletries - shampoo, conditioner and shower gel all provided. The bedroom has a beautiful high ceiling and lots more exposed red brick (which used to be covered up before the renovation). The art work is an eclectic mix of things I've picked up from here, there and everywhere, and the built in wardrobes are vast, giving you hanging and drawer space while you're here. At night, the neighbourhood is normally really quiet, so the bedroom becomes a tranquil den to bed down in after exploring London for the day. In the summer, the outdoor table comes into it's own, seating 6-8 people with the BBQ available for guests to use. The shed houses the washer, dryer and boiler, hoover, broom and mop. Hopefully you won't need to go in there but if you do need to wash or clean anything, you'll find all you need in there. I love my home so much - I have people over all of the time and really enjoy living in it, so I hope you will love it too, and look after it as if it were your own. Guest access My home has its own private entrance through an old white gate which you can lock once inside for added safety. Hay Street is a small back street with virtually no traffic, so it's a really quiet and peaceful spot next to the bustle of the markets. Other things to note The flat and garden is completely private with no shared access to other flats, however there is a fire escape which comes down into the garden from my neighbour's house. This is to only be used in an emergency by my neighbours - they are not allowed to use it at other times, so don't worry no one will come down into the garden unless there is an emergency.
