Rural retreat - Former Artist's studio - Altarnun

The Studio is a self contained cottage with its own off road parking space. There is a well equipped kitchen area in an open plan living space opening on to a patio with great views of east edge of Bodmin Moor. This peaceful rural retreat is situated a few miles from the picturesque village of Altarnun which features in Daphne Du Maurier's book "Jamaica Inn" and the wedding of Doc Martin. There is easy access to the whole of Cornwall as only 10 minutes from the A30. Ideal spot for keen walkers. The space The Studio comprises an open plan living space with a well fitted kitchen area, a bedroom with a double bed and en-suite shower room. The kitchen area is well equipped and the remainder of the spacious living space has 2 comfortable armchairs, a TV, a dining table with chairs, a bureau style desk and a single bed which can be used for additional seating or for alternative sleeping arrangement. French windows open on to a small patio with seating and a gas barbeque , enjoying extensive views of the East side of Bodmin Moor The Studio is not suitable for children although there is a camping cot, baby bath and high chair available for an infant. It is ideal for a couple seeking a peaceful break away from urban life or for anyone who enjoys walking. It is also a convenient location for anyone wishing to explore Cornwall as it has easy access to the North and South Coasts and only 10 minutes from the A30 from which the West of Cornwall can be easily reached. Guest access The Studio is a detached cottage which is on one level although there is one step from the front door into the property. Public transport is extremely limited but we are happy to arrange transport for anyone arriving in Cornwall by train or airplane. Free off-road private parking is available adjacent to the Studio. Other things to note We specify 2 guests only. There is a double bed a in the the bedroom and a single bed in the living area which makes it ideal for two friends or a parent with a grown up son or daughter. In exceptional cases we would consider a third person. Cornwall is a great place for artists. Anyone who wishes to paint we are happy to suggest suitable locations. Tuition is available for beginners by arrangement.
